Not sure what’s going on. But over the last few days, my wyze app isn’t sending me any event notifications. The events are being recorded, just not sending me notifications. I don’t have any of the paid plans, just sd card recording. Everything has worked fine up until the last few days.
I’ve experimented by turning off and on notifications in the app. My iphone still shows the app allowing notifications. I haven’t changed anything. I think I’ve done everything short of deleting the app and reinstalling it. I’d rather not do that if i don’t have to.
That probably started with the new app release at the end of last week. They just launched a new app update today to fix some bugs from the last release. Will you try updating to the new app that came out today and see if it helps?
Same thing happened to me on all 4 devices this morning, push notifications for motion events to my phone stopped. I’m on android 3.2.5 build 591. I did an uninstall/reinstall but that didnt restore the push notifications for motion events or for push button event on my doorbell v2. I opened a ticket included my log file, i suspect my phone is not registered with the android/google push notification service correctly.
@dave27 from @afacademydad 's response, it seems to me that this notification issue might actually be related to the 3.2.5 app settings issues. Maybe that app version turned off notifications even though the toggled showed them as on. We might have to wait until the Android hotfix is available to know for sure though, but it seems that toggling the settings off and then back on got it to restore functionality again. If that’s the case then the 3.2.5 app had some more bugs than we realized, but it looks like the 3.2.6 app resolves it if we redo the toggles. I’ve seen something exactly like this before in the distant past, so I think this is a likely explanation. I look forward to hearing from you if you can get yours restored as soon as the 3.2.6 update is released on Google. Keep me updated. If the new x.6 app following the above steps doesn’t resolve it for you either, then call tag me and I will make sure to pass this on to someone at Wyze.
My issue must have been different, it only started yesterday (I had updated the app a couple days ago and not since, and notifications were working) and I had tried toggling notifications off and on (via settings, not the bell in the corner) which didn’t help. Today it started working on its own.
I do have an automation that shuts off notifications for one cam at 9PM and turns them back on in the morning, but doubt that would be related, as other cams not impacted by that automation started working this morning also.
