Hello, this post is for WYZE developers and reporting bugs. Ever since my app updated in october (mid oct or later?? im not sure exactly), I stopped recieving notifications for events, and even some events not being recorded.
I have found that reverting back to the app version that released on Sept 23, for reference I downloaded Wyze app Version: 3.1.5.569 and I get all my notifications as I did before this bug was introduced. I havent tested which app udpate broke this functionality but I know in sept it was working fine so i just grabbed a version from apkmirror dated in sept.
I have read on reddit, facebook, twitter and the wyze forum that this is a common known issue, accross various platforms. This bug needs to be addressed ASAP.
What is the firmware version of the cameras 1.0.84
What is the app version you experienced the issue in? Wyze has had some recent updates so you may want to load the newer app: it started in a version after the one i posted, and when i uninstalled the upates (even the most recent one) it started working again. I just switched to a new phone and i uninstalled and reinstalled the wyze app, double checked notifications were on for the app in android settins and within the apps settings. I see an event at midnight last night but i never got a phone notification for it. I only see it in the app. and today I have gotten zero notifications
You’re not alone. I’ve also noticed the this behavior (V4 cameras in my case). I haven’t downgraded yet to see if my notifications come back yet. (I’ll try the version you referenced) I have noticed sometimes if I “reset services” they work temporarily as expected, however this resets all of my camera settings, so I have to go reset all of my camera options, which is rather annoying.
I’ve also noticed in the recent versions I can’t talk to my lamp sockets. I can power cycle my cameras until I’m blue in the face. I can take one of my APs and hold it literally against the camera (not that it’s far away from it to begin with) (point being signal should not be the issue) it just always says not connected. So I have to hope that it just turns them on and off at a reasonable time. When it turns the front ones on 4 hours different than the back lights, nothing I can do about it (other than turn the cameras off entirely).
Same here. Cam Plus V3s and V4. Happening as OP said with October update. Tried everything from router to reset services to unistalls. Only temporary fixes the issue. Very sporadic notifications. FRUSTRATING!
Same exact issue here. Pixel 7 Pro, V4 cam and 2 floodlights. Notifications are really hit or miss. I have all notifications turned on, nothing blocking them on android’s side, and I get maybe 50% of notifications. The cams clearly detect an event but they just don’t notify on my phone all the time. My wife has an iPhone 15 and gets all notifications, so it’s clearly an android app issue
