Wyze app 3.17 - Released 7/14/2026

We have an app release today!

Wyze app 3.17:

Versions:

  • Android: 3.17.0.904
  • iOS: 3.17.0.13

What’s new:

  • Introduced guest shopping to allow users to browse products, build a cart, and complete checkouts without requiring an upfront login or signup
  • Bug fixes

I received the update today. I never use the WYZE app unless logged in. Why would anyone else? Am I missing something here?

I can honestly say I have never bought WYZE products within the app. I have looked at prices, but have never actually bought anything through the app.

How is Live View, SD card playback and Cloud Event video viewing working in 3.17?

It is so that NEW people who don’t have a Wyze account yet are able to access the shop and browse it to see if they want to purchase. A person who already has a Wyze account won’t use this, but there are sometimes new customers who want to browse before deciding if they want an account. It’s a niche thing that is inapplicable to most people.

Let me ask you this, why in the world would someone who does not own a WYZE product download and install the WYZE app?

All good on my Android device.

Live View, SD card playback and Cloud Event video viewing working fine on my Android and IOS devices. Glad 3.17 is working for you too. Thanks for your update.

STILL no fix for vertically stretched video in landscape orientation for iPad with V2 cams.

iPadOS 26.5.2

Exactly my point! Instead of focusing on useless bells and whistles, why not fix existing issues and add dark mode throughout the app. Also, full landscape mode for tablets would go a long way.

:+1:

After initial widespread public outcry, they were really pushing this for a while and then it really slowed down after a couple of updates. Rtsp was the same. I thought both were going to priority massive overhauls. It seems it partially depends how much engagement the topics continue to get to determine priority focus.

I do appreciate the dark mode and rtsp we got, but I’d also like some consistent follow through on them both.

So many companies are like this and the bigger they become the more it occurs. When a person in the corner office demands a way to increase sales, stupid ideas like this sound like brilliant solutions to them. The focus on revenue blinds the people in the corner office to reality.

The fact is, nearly nobody that is completely new to WYZE would download the app to shop for and purchase products. Whomever came up with the idea for anonymous app shopping is nothing more than a corporate butt kisser attempting to climb the ladder to suck sess. (Old joke that seems appropriate here.)

I know the type and the results that these people produce. As long as they get ahead, they could care less about the betterment of the company or their products.
