I have seen that in monitor but not elsewhere. Interesting.
It stinks I hate it go back to the original
One thing to note is that you do lose out on thumbnails for the cameras on 3.0 app, but it had limited usefulness IMO. I guess it’s good for recognizing the cameras quickly, but the thumbnails are cached based on the last time you view the camera so it isn’t really “up-to-date”.
On the 3.0 app, you can have grouped cameras and individual cameras on the favourite list. Whereas on the 2.5 app, you could only do one or the other.
I actually liked having the rules list at the top as a slider on the 2.5 app since I don’t have that many rules and it is easily accessible.
Agree terrible app / should have been a beta roll out trial basis with revert, Additionally all notifications appear with the “W”’preceding the notification on iOS which is annoying, useless and distracting. Wyze please revert.
Lamps under the devices tab used to have a color icon indicating on or off - which is easy to spot. It’s now just text and very difficult to spot. This is an essential loss of functionality.
Load Favorites from Devices. Your lighting products (and groups) will have colored on/off icons under Favorites.
I have 15 cameras, a mix of v3Pro and v4. I use a Wyze WiFi router. I have awesome gigabit internet service. Since this update the cameras will not stay connected. SD card playback jerks every 2 seconds on every camera. The favorites display works for under 2 seconds then fails. I have never been so disappointed in an update. I did some BETA testing with it in the past month and uninstalled it because it was so bad. Now, I have not choice but to accept this bad update. This is ruining my experience with Wyze and I feel like I am heavily invested in the product. Any suggestions???
Have you tried reverting back to 2.50.9.1 via TestFlight? That should help you while Wyze polishes 3.0 and hopefully gives us the option to auto-stream/not auto-stream cams in Favorites.
If I try out 3.0 in one phone will previous version work in my other phones/tablets, I have disabled auto update though 3.0 has not shown up in playstore yet.
Yes. That what I did initially.
Can I PLEASE have friendly faces back?
It was broken in the entire beta cycle and is still broken. I’m not in a “restricted state” but it says I am. (Indiana)
I love this company and their cameras but if this app stays / does not improve I will be looking elsewhere. The new app is so slow and time consuming. I am hoping they allow the old app to be used again.
A post was split to a new topic: Need new firmware update
You know I can get over rearranging and creating favorites and such again. Fine the app is more difficult to use with the larger icons, especially for people when you’re approaching 20 cameras.
What I can’t deal with is it streaming 20 live streams automatically when I open the app. Who thought this was a great idea? All I need is a thumbnail, I’ll click the camera I want to view. It works real great especially in areas of low cell signal. I’d hate to guess how much data this is chewing through for people on limited data plans, or data caps on their home internet plans.
Same here. Connection to livestream takes a lot longer (up to forever) … I had issues connecting a camera … terrible. Forgot to mention - the livestream is now very slow, it has not been that way … a minute between I move my hand and it is captured in the stream - is this just me or the app?
Test Flight only shows me 3.0, no previous versions.
Yeah, this new version of the app sucks. Takes forever to update the livestream even on a very fast broadband.
Another ‘improvement’ that really isn’t.
These comments will probably be ignored and we will all just end up living with this crap or switch to a different camera manufacturer.
A couple of things that make it truly bad. First, when you open the app it loads the Favorites tab and there is no way to stop this even if you have no Favorites selected. Secondly, if you do have favorites selected, it only updates the cameras that are showing on the screen, not all of them. Then if you scroll to other cameras it needs to update, but lo and behold it then stops updating the ones you were on and when you scroll up, it needs to update again.
Insane.
Your broadband speed has nothing to do with how fast the cameras connect or work. It’s your WiFi.
Yes, there is; go to the “Devices” tab and unstar all your device and groups, and basically there are no more “Favorites”. Your cameras then connect one at a time just like the old app.
App update is horrible: I can no longer see thumbnail so I know which camera to select. Did anyone test this as a beta? Too slow to load my cameras. Wyze you screwed up a decent app with this update. You took away the ability to turn camera on or off from camera page? How can I turn a camera on or off now? The more I go through the app the worse it gets. Favorites automatically loading just burning up data and slowing things down.
