Wyze changed the navigation layout for groups from horizontal to vertical. That means they must be working on landscape mode. In landscape mode, we used to swipe left to view additional feeds with cam groups of more than 4. It’s now a 4 by X vertical layout. Swipe the screen up to use the header space (Cottage). It works for me even with screen zoom enabled on my iPhones and iPad.
I hear you but in my opinion the old layout was better, it would fit four views perfectly on the screen in landscape mode.
I know, but that is annoying
Also, what changed and I think is step backward is when you are in a single camera view in landscape mode, when you click the back arrow, it takes you to single view mode instead of group view. They need to hire an experienced GUI Designer
Still present in this iteration of Android is the trouble when changing groups during the same viewing session.
Although the little initialization animation has been updated, invariably after I successfully view one group of cams and I back out to view another group, one or more cams show a timeout message until I exit the app entirely and relaunch. Then the 2nd group displays as expected when it’s the first one I view.
Is Wyze aware of the problem of cam group streaming with latest app?
We definitely are and I am sorry you are running into this issue.
Was this update even tested in-house prior to release? I don’t know how it could have been given it’s causing these problems. This is unacceptable. It’s basically rendered the app useless. And still no fix.
Initial reports in other forum topics indicate the Android Update Hotfix has fixed the Loss of Notification on VDBv1 Doorbell Press and No Notification from HMS Mode Change or Alarm.
The hotfix has literally fixed nothing. Error code -1 when attempting to view any cams in a group. I have eight of them and can’t view a thing.
Additionally, when you’re in landscape mode and select a camera to view, tapping the back button doesn’t bring you back to the cam group. It reverts to the landscape mode view of the same camera.
But more importantly - none of the cameras can be viewed and this is completely unacceptable, but also…just RIDICULOUS!!!
This is supposed to be the FIX !!!
As you will note from my post, I indicated that the fixes that were reported as successful were for the Android OS update, not the completely different iOS update.
The issues you have listed are specific to the iOS update, have already been reported above , and have been acknowledged by Wyze above .
Have you posted submitted log numbers here for Jason to get them to the Devs so they can pinpoint the source of the problem quicker?
I agree, totally unacceptable. This problem SHOULD have been caught during early testing if there was any. This isn’t a small bug. It literally broke everything. Something needs to change with software testing. The whole community shouldn’t be used as beta testers. I’ve used Wyze for a very long time. And I really like the cameras. But something needs to change for the better in regards to instances like this. Way too many problems.
I can’t get the update. Just get 2.37.
Hi, folks. I just added this update to the Service Status page but wanted to make sure it’s here as well.
1/8/23 4:21 PM PT - We have been making progress on a new app build to replace the problematic iOS app version. This is currently going through internal testing and looks promising for resolving the Error Code -1 issue. We appreciate your patience during this time. If needed, ungrouping your cameras can avoid the Error Code -1 issue while we work on the new app build release.
How will we know when the problem has been resolved and new app build is available
Great - Wyze move Gwendolyn. Look forward to seeing 2.38 Hotfix fix.
Ungrouping does not fix the problem at least for me. I have tried that several times and it still shows -1 error code randomly.
Restarted the app?
Worked for me ok.
Tried that several times too. Also deleted app and reinstalled. Tried ungrouping. Eventually the -1 comes back - again just for me.
OK that’s weird - ungrouping camera’s seems to have fixed it ok for my IOS phones.
Seems to me they would update us back to the old firmware until they get this thing fixed. I have over 20 cameras of all different varieties and the only thing that’s working is the doorbell pro.
I’m also running the hot fix 2.38.3 and it doesn’t work
