Panv3 won’t load from local storage tried all the troubleshooting but still no go has anyone had this issue with the basic service dose the camera stop working if you don’t pay for there subscription?
How are you trying to access it? If you’re trying from the “events” tab that is a known bug, but if you let it sit for a few seconds it should start playing.
But if you go to the cam live view and tap “sd card” there, does it work? If not and if the settings show the card is not recognized or has 0bytes free, the card may have died. You can try formatting it in a computer but often once they start to go, they’ll just keep having problems.
The other option is the slot has become corroded or burned out. There are some cleaning steps you can try, but often the camera has to be replaced at that point.
The camera should work—and by that I mean record to and playback from local microSD storage—even without a subscription, which I think is a major selling point, but, unfortunately, your experience is not uncommon.
What do you mean by “all the troubleshooting”? If you can provide specific information about steps you’ve taken and how you’re trying to use the camera (i.e., what and where you’re tapping in the app, what specific error messages you’re seeing, etc.), then that might provide guidance for an answer or work-around, but I wonder if you’re experiencing something related to a longstanding issue with Cam Pan v3 that’s been discussed in several topics, like this one:
If that’s the case, then we’re probably stuck with work-arounds and waiting on a real fix from Wyze, like what seemed to happen with Cam v3 last year.
I’ve been dealing with this issue on one of my Cam Pan v3s (which doesn’t even show the vertical green stripe on the microSD recording timeline despite the fact that the card has no problems when I put it in a Cam v4), and I’ve ordered some new cards to do more testing, so I hope to do some of my own troubleshooting within the week.
Welcome to the Forum, @Hunter!
I’ve tried to view from both the event tab as well as directly from live feed to sd card it shows me a still picture behind the error message but won’t play the video I’ve done the reformat the cars and also took the card out and played the video on my phone directly from the cars I’ve also replaced the card , deleted the app and restalled it hard reset the camera it’s self and it worked for a couple hours then went back to the same error
Ya mine doesn’t show the green strip either it can’t be the sd card and even the camera slot because when I did the hard reset on the camera it stared working for a couple hours and then stopped again couldn’t even watch what I was able to after hard resetting the camera
My experience has been similar. When I eject the card from the camera and put it into a PC, the PC can play what videos the card did record even when the app tells me the camera doesn’t see them, and it’s just on one of my Cam Pan v3s: The other doesn’t have this problem.
I still haven’t figured this one out for myself.
Yep, same here. Use “Eject SD”, then “Reboot Camera, also tried cycled power but camera will start recording to SD only for a few hours. Also formatted card on laptop but same short recording period.
Do you have a sense of how much space is being used on the card when it does record? I wonder if what you’re experiencing is like what’s reported in a related topic. I still need to do some of my own testing with this.
Along the lines of what @crease mentioned, if your SD card fills to a certain point then stops recording, that is a telltale sign of either a counterfeit card (8gb card relabeled as a larger one and file system tricked to show that larger size) or a card that has gone bad, a chunk of dead cells will stop the recording.
The last one shows .52GB/29.70GB.
Again, use Eject, then Restart Camera and recording will again restart for a short period of time.
Yeah, and I get what @dave27 is saying, but that’s not the point I was making, and I’m not convinced that’s what’s happening here. I put a fresh-out-of-the-package SanDisk High Endurance card into my problem child Cam Pan v3 yesterday, tapped to set Record to MicroSD Card to Continuous and checked a short time (several minutes) later to see that it was showing the vertical green stripe on the microSD card recording timeline. After a few hours, I checked again and saw no stripe, and navigating to the Manage SD Card screen shows that it’s stuck at “1.78G/238.2G”.
The original card is a SanDisk Extreme of the same capacity (256 GB), and in my memory it does the same thing and has stalled in this camera at 7.07 GB of recording. That same card, when ejected from the Cam Pan v3 and installed for continuous recording in a Cam v4, will fill to capacity and rewrite from the beginning as expected.
I still don’t know what’s happening, but I intend to pull this new card and check it in a PC later.
if i look at my sd card on my pan cam v3, it keeps saying, no video selected, no green. if i click on a video icon that means a detected, it shows a still photo, no video. reformatted card and then replaced with wyze sd card and still nothing, i bought 4 to replace all my v3 cams. will not open them until this gets fixed or i will throw them out.
