I was told that the issue you are experiencing is because they are in groups. So if you did not have them in groups you may be ok with the camera firmware you have.
They are looking at that as well. so the Log seemed to have helped some.
thanks
Spamoni,
Is the problem with some kind of beta firmware on the V3 cameras or just the app?
I did not apply any new firmware on any of my cameras just the App update. The 2.48.0(379) android app update was installed on both phones right before our Christmas trip.
I am still running the V3 cameras on 4.36.11.7095 and 4.58.11.7357 on my V3 Pros. I tried to turn on two extra indoor cameras for added security when I was away, and it would not load the grouped cameras (all of mine are in a āCamerasā group).
Once I disabled all of those cameras, and a couple more non essential cameras it seemed to help. I should have known it was the app update and not rebooted my router and a bunch of other troubleshooting BS. Hopefully they can root this bug out quickly, I hate going backwards in app and/or firmware updates.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
I use groups and donāt view them one at a time, unless I see something and then go from group to single cam.
Not using groups would be a no-go for meā¦
Many app revisions ago groups had an issue and I reported that too, then it was groups above 10 cams were affected. Guess they need to check their software/firmware with large camera groupsā¦
Wyze hasnāt said where the problem lies yet. It could be app, firmware, server or some combination.
Merry Christmas to you also! ![]()
Yea, I understand that. My wife uses groups as well. Donāt remove your groups, just wanted to let you know what Wyze has found. I believe this will be part of the fix as well.
None of my cams recorded

The only event recordings I got was one Rat, one lazy cat and one ![]()
Merry Christmas to all anyway.
Merry Christmas to you as well.
Just to make sue this is understood, and I am sure it is, I am not a Wyze employee but instead a volunteer who tries to help out in the forums and discord.
I am not 100% sure what the issue is as there appears to be multiple things involved. The biggest has to do with the security updates in the latest App Release. Wyze is looking into the app and servers side to see what is going on and to come up with a fix.
One of the logs I provided indicated the issue @bryonhu had seemed to be related to cameras in a group. Therefore, they are looking at that as well.
So it sounds like you are experiencing the Group issue with your cameras. I have seen reports in the distant past, not related to this version of the app, where individuals were having issues with streaming cameras in groups if there were more than 8 or so cameras. I confirmed tha in the past and I recall it was fixed. So that issue may be back again.
You could try removign your cameras from the groups, as a test, to see if there are any issues.
I would also encourage you to submit a log so that Wyze can look and see if it is the same as what @Bryonhu found.
thanks
Quick question:
I was informed that Wyze is working on the group issue and asked me a question which I am hoping you can let me know:
When you had a problem camera in the group, could you click on the camera and enter the live stream as it should stream normally. Then when you quit and went back to the group, was the stream back to normal as well?
It is believed that when you tap on a problem camera it will stream without issue and then when you go back to the group it will continue to stream until you back out to the home screen and go back into the group.
Can you confirm this from your experience?
Yes to both questions.
However earlier that day some cameras would fail when clicked on from group and timeout then clicking the refresh they would eventually start.
The last time I loaded 2.48.0 I was unable to get the camera to fail on single cam view.
Also in group or single cam view loading times were longer than with 2.47.0
I can be impatient and waiting longer for the cam to load is not an improvement so running 2.47.0 since it loads cams in group or single cam fasterā¦
Same here. ![]()
Appreciate your confirmation on this, I will pass that on as well. They are obviously on the correct track then.
Thanks for assisting with this.
One more question if you donāt mind. Wyze is narrowing in on the problem and they were curious about how many cameras you have in your groups?
If you could let me know that would be great.
Wyze is working on the group issue and streaming. Can you le me know about how many cameras you have in your groups?
Wyze is narrowing down the issue and is looking to find out.
thanks
I was hoping you can help me out here, Wyze is working on the streaming issue. Are your cameras in groups by chance? If so, how many cameras do you have grouped together?
Any information will help with the resolution.
thanks
Wyze had this issue with groups larger than 10 previously, guess they didnāt remember when coding againā¦LoL
I have 28 cameras total
2 Groups
16 cams in one
12 cams in other
Thanks, this helps a lot.
Spamoni,
Thanks for all you do!
I have one group called āCamerasā and it has 20 total cameras in it.
Three of those are unplugged from power (one V3 and two PanV1 cameras).
Normally I only have 17 going at a time and two of those are in āstand byā (not streaming). When I tried to turn on more than the 15 to stream, it crippled the whole system. They would not connect as a group anymore. I had to go back to the 15 streaming/two stand by setup.
āCamerasā Group Consists of 20 cameras:
3 V3 Pros
8 V3 (one unplugged from power but in group)
6 V2 (one in stand by)
3 Panv1 (two unplugged from power but in group, one in stand by)
Special Note:
The 17 that are actually powered up (with two in stand by) are really not connecting as swiftly/consistently as they did in the Android 2.47 app though.
Thanks, I will pass this on as well.
Really appreciate you providing this information as this will help in the resolution.
So have the Wyze Guys paused the App in playstore and whatever apple calls their app store?
I recommended it, but have not heard back.
