Why does the camera stop recording even when people are still in view of the camera?
I have cam plus and why is it that videos dont seem to last more than 35-40 seconds even when people are still moving in view of the camera?

does this have to do with the whole freezing issue at the start of the video?

It more likely has to do with how many pixels are changing (motion). If they hold fairly still for a few seconds, then there won’t be a lot of change between one frame and the next, and the camera will think there isn’t enough motion to continue recording, so it stops, then it picks back up as soon as the person moves more dramatically.

Things that can affect this:

  • If a person is far back, they are using fewer pixels in the image.
  • The dimmer the lighting, the less sensitive the motion detection
  • Check your settings for the “Sensitivity” option and make sure to turn it up higher. The higher the sensitivity is set, the more likely it will continue to record even if there is less motion. Try setting it to 100% sensitivity.

They are in full view of the camera, its day light out, and they were super close to the camera it was in my side drive way. The Sensitivity is at 100%.
