When will National Porch Pirate Day be?

How many days until they come out in force, 3-5 Business days?

The only Porch Pirate Iā€™ve had here is a possum that ā€œborrowedā€ some of the cookies off of a plate a neighbor put by the front door.

Besides itā€™s legs and paws missing it looks like itā€™s snout is in the Pirates boot. :astonished:

About a week ago, someone rode up on an electric scooter just after dark on my driveway. Thereā€™s a camera up on the eaves that caught him immediately but in the dark, he probably didnā€™t notice it. Itā€™s an RV parking so people do circles on the pavement.

But the path to the front door is a sharp turn to the right and thereā€™s another camera (not visible from the road) there. That one is at eye level, behind a window, but is very prominent. He made that turn, saw the eye-level camera, paused a little, then turned around. He didnā€™t want to take the chance,

You started a new AI trend @Antonius ā€¦ I asked Microsoft Copilot AI:

when is national porch pirate day?

And it cited your post as the source for this answer:

(The Wyze forum post source links to your comment)

Google similarly lists you as the primary source:

So I guess we can assume National Porch Pirate today is now Nov 29th, thanks to you. :joy:

It is amazing what you can learn in a forum.

Evil AI :imp:. Iā€™ll have to summon the AI exterminator @peepeep .

And I donā€™t even live near the sea.

Anyone got any good porch pirate stories or footage to post while we wait for this seasonā€™s capers to roll in?

You could link to something already posted, too.

We had porch fairies :fairy: leave us something expensive we didnā€™t want and they wouldnā€™t take it back!

This thing called ā€˜Roadieā€™ left two big, heavy, high-end shopping bags on our back porch, addressed to a neighbor in a distant apartment complex.

Turns out it was a boatload of fresh packaged seafood (prawns, salmon, mussels, etc) packed in dry ice.

We requested that the local sender pick it up but they never did. Never even returned our calls. Several hundred $s worth of good food went to waste.

So much for ā€˜crowdsourced delivery platforms.ā€™ This time at least.

The purpose of pirates :pirate_flag: is to flout justice.

According to these article, you now can carry insurance to protect against porch theft.

Most home owners insurance covers it already under the same category as burglary.

Including a receipt and tracking info for what was ordered and stolen along with Having a camera proving something was stolen helps too. Thatā€™s why I donā€™t worry about it too much.
