Webcam software

Can the WYZE camera’s be used as a webcam. If so does anyone have ideas/recommendations on how to do this. I have my own Linux server. So what s/w could I use to point at my camera’s to view them via a web server.

Thanks everyone

It would be extremely roundabout and the third party software (wyze bridge) used to do it I don’t believe is working right now. Quality would be poor as well. Even if you get Wyze Bridge working you then need to figure out how to get that RTSP stream into the app you’re looking to use the “web cam” with.

Just get a cheap webcam.

Here is one example for under 5 dollars.

You cannot directly connect to Wyze cams and use them as web cams. Wyze did have firmware you could install to make them web cams but they no longer provide normal functions. There are also convoluted third party options a well.

I agree with above suggestions.

The only thing not mentioned…You could use tiny cam pro on a cheap old android phone or on an android emulator then run it in server mode. This gives you an RTSP stream which you can then plug into some webcam software.

I mentioned the emulator option or old phone since you marked that you use iOS and tiny cam is only on Android.

FYI for anyone interested… from AI

Yes, you can use a security camera as a webcam, especially IP cameras, by using software that allows you to access and stream their video feed as a Virtual webcam,
