After painting my WCO yesterday I decided to give it a full charge before reinstalling it. I used a Wyze Pan pwr supply as my source, and the charge lamp never stopped blinking all day - in excess of 10 hrs. I let the batteries fully discharge by leaving the cam on in live-view overnight. This morning after 5~6 hours of charging, this time with the base as source, the charging indicator lamp still never turned off, even though the app showed 100% charge. I’m thinking my impatience during my 1st charge might have put me in the position of having a charge indicator that is less informative than the old “Check Engine” lamp. When I first got my WCO I used a Qualcomm 3.0 Quick Charger which might have ruined a not so robust BMS in the WCO. Qualcomm 3.0 chargers are designed to work with other Qualcomm certified devices. It could have been a natural failure, but using a Qualcomm 3.0 charger sounds like a more reasonable cause of the failure. At any rate, from here out I will use my 10,000 mAh power bank to charge it, which has a row of charge indicators that turn off when the device being charged is full. I also of course have the batt % display in the app, Just wanted everyone to know; you probably shouldn’t rush charging the WCO. BTW, I’m certain painting my WCO had nothing to do with the charging indicator issue - I only painted the front, top & sides, everything else was carefully masked off.
I had the exact same problem, except for me I initially charged from an AC adapter. After charging to 100% the charging light continued to flash. I then continued to charge from the base station, after turning off the camera using the switch. The light continued to flash for about 10 minutes, then went out. Maybe a coincidence?
Fully charge your Wyze Cam Outdoor before setting it up the first time. This can take up to 4 hours. Once fully charged the light will switch from flashing red to solid red.
However, I am sitting here watching my WCO blink red while the app says 100%.
Apparently we’ve identified one of three problems while the WCO is still wet behind the ears. The charging status lamp is the least issue of concern. The WCO has a serious issue with audio quality - there is none!. The sound output from the cam is incredibly weak or non-existent, as I found out trying to speak with my brother on the front porch yesterday. All I got out of the camera was squeaks & chirps, and I’m not talking about classic audio feedback. The most disturbing issue is the time it takes to receive a push notification after detection; it’s nearly a full minute. A lot can happen in a minute. Porch pirates and criminals in general are in & out in a flash. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8Vyv12xGTs . Be sure to watch the whole video. I called & cancelled the second WCO I had on order this afternoon. I will wait to see if these issues are resolved before buying another.

My notifications were sporadic today. I’m guessing they’re aware of this and are working on it. I suspect it has something to do with the distance and sensitivity settings.
I’ve been charging my outdoor cam for over 7 hours and it’s still flashing red. My base light is blue, but neither the base nor the camera is recognized by my Wyze app. When I try to scan the QR code, it won’t scan. When I put in the MAC code, it says this device is already being used by someone. I’ve been messing with this all day and i’m so frustrated that I can’t even get it set up!
