View Playback And Classic Layout Not Shown On Wyzecam 2?

I have access to three Wyzecam 2.

Two of these are mine where I’m the account holder of it. My main wyzecam I have it In an apartment where I’m the only one having access to it and I don’t share the camera with others. The other wyzecam I have it in another location but I share it with two other people. I signed up for the free cam light plus a while back and I’m the only person that has this. I share this wyzecam with 2 other people and I created a wyzecam account for each of them. So they can view the wyzecam by viewing it by checking the wyzecam app. The other wyzecam is someone else who is the owner. That person shared their wyzecam with me.

The thing is when I viewed each each wyzecam, it is a bit different depending on if I’m the owner or not. With the wyzecam that I am the owner and share with 2 people , there is the 12 second alert videos. There is the alerts and notifications. There is the view playback option where if I click on it, I can go back to a certain time to check the video from then. I have a 32gb or 128gb micro sd card in all these wyzecams.

The wyzecam that is shared with me and I don’t own, Imcan view the camera live and the 12 second events. I can’t view the view playback as I read you need to be the account holder. The thing is that person doesn’t have a cam lite plus plan so that person can’t either right?

Now the main issue is this. When I go and check my main wyzecam that I’m the owner and don’t share with anyone, why does it look completely different from the other wyzecam when I click on it? The layout is completely different. When I click on it, it shows

SD Card, Take Photo, Record, Smart Focus, Siren, Album, Time lapse, Turn Off and it does not look the same like my wyzecam that I share with 2 people? Everything below the actual camera looks different.

It normally shows sound, record, speak, take photo and more and the view playback at the bottom. Where is the view playback so I can check that? How come it looks like this and different from my other wyzecam? Did I click on something that made it look like this a while back? This isn’t how it’s suppose to look. Where is the classic look to it?

So it seems the way to do this is click on sd card and then you can scroll back to check. So I can’t change it to the old classic layout then? Why is the other wyzecams not like this then?

That way is better but where would the 12 second events look a lot different now to check? I haven’t had much 12 second events recently on that camera for it to check so it doesn’t show but when was this changed? I don’t recall my wyzecam having this layout changed when I clicked to view it a while back?

How about you post a side by side screen shots so we can visualize what you are experiencing.

I’m not sure how to post pictures here.

I found a thread similar to this. Look at the picture Willstay posted. That is how it would look if you want to check the playback. But there isn’t a picture of what I mean. When you click on your wyzecam, it should show the live camera and sound, record, speak, take photo, more and green button at the bottle of view playback right? When I click on my wyzecam, that isn’t what is shown.

Look at the picture R. Good posted. That is how it looks like for me except it’s horizontal and not vertical. Not only that, it doesn’t have what I described above.

This is only with my wyzecam and not the other wyzecam.

Look at user macenza 2 screenshots as you scroll to the middle. That is how it’s suppose to look. Why does my wyzecam not show this when I ciick on the wyzecam?

Click the upload icon, locate the picture and add it. If you are trying to view SD playback to a camera shared to you it isn’t going to happen. It’ has been requested for years.

From the few links I posted, does that show what Is meant by that?

My wyzecam does not look like the other wyzecam when I click on this wyzecam.

All of my cameras look the same. V3, V3 Pro and V4. I am using iOS app 3.8.5 (11) on iPhone and iPad. What camera are you dealing with?

The pictures you posted, that is how my wyzecam looks when I check it on the iphone. I took a look and it actually is a Wyzecam V3. I am also using IOS app 3.8.5 (11) on my iphone. I had thought the wyzecam was a V2.

The two other wyzecams do not look like this though when I check it on the iphone. Both of those cameras are V2. The thing is the screenshot you posted, this is not how it looked a while back though with my V3. So did this change suddenly with V3? So it has looked like this for how long with your V3?

I prefer the older classic layout. So you never had the older classic layout before with your V3? Is there a reason it shows the older classic layout with the other two wyzecam V2 then?

I had the older classic layout until they change the app a long time ago, probably early 2025 or sometime in 2024. It’s been around for a while.

I’ve been here about 5 years, all kinds of app changes on all my cams.

The new user interface for Cam V3 was introduced in iOS Wyze app 3.7.0.8 on August 28 2025. However, I had Wyze switching the interface back to the old style until Sept 16 2025.

I lost track of all the app changes, even when the V3 Pro and V4 went from vertical to horizontal time lines.

Yes the older classic layout is what I meant. I am pretty sure I still had the older layout not long ago and this changed sort of recently.

Well the other wyzecams that I use, it’s still the older classic version.

The thing is I never had a wyzecam go to this version until recently though. So this is only for Wyzecam V3 and above then?

So there is no way for my Wyzecam V3 to go back to the older classic version layout then? The other two wyzecam I have access to it, one is where I’m the owner and share with others and the other wyzecam where it’s someone else but that person share with me, that is still the older classic layout. Those are wyzecam 2.

So people who use the Wyzecam V3 and above are fine with how it looks now? I prefer the classic layout as that is how I used it for as long as I used it. The way it looks now doesn’t look as good as the old classic version layout.

If you take your fingers and move the timeline it will show the time on the screen. I liked the old timeline also but since I use iOS I can’t go back to an older app, not that I want to.

Correct. If you really want to go back to the old interface, you can try your luck to see if there are still any older beta apps available on TestFlight for Wyze. However, I doubt there are any available for Wyze iOS app 3.6.x. because it’s been more than 90 days.

If you were using Android, you can install the older Android version 3.6.6.683 or 3.6.7.694 to keep on using the older interface layout via APKMirror.com.

I don’t mind it. In fact, I actually prefer it since I can simultaneous see the event thumbnails and live view. One thing I noticed is that they drastically improved the playback on SD card seeking. On the old interface whenever I scroll really back in the timeline I needed to wait ~1 second for it to “catch up”. Now on the new interface it is practically near instant. I am still actually surprised how fast it is now compared to before.

Others had mentioned there’s no longer a permanent dedicated 30 second jump on the new interface so you’ll have to tap the screen a lot. If you tap too quickly, then it’ll zoom thinking you want to double tap so I understand it is kind of annoying if you rely on it a lot. Personally, I just use the timeline to scroll through the footage.

There’s also the retaining zoom issue as shown here.

You lose out the nightvision toggle on the live view on the new interface which was previously on the top right corner. The workaround is to go into Timelapse and you will see the nightvision toggle. It’s not as accessible as before, but at least it’s better than going into Camera Settings > Advanced Settings > Night Vision Mode.

This was my suspicion while reading through this topic, that your initial statement in your opening post was incorrect. Thank you for clearing this up.

In addition to the links posted above, you might find this official Wyze News topic from Wyze informative:

That’s my understanding. In posts elsewhere (including Reddit AMAs), Wyze employees have indicated that they’re trying to unify the app’s interface and make it more consistent across Cam models. I think they probably have to draw the line somewhere, and I imagine that with the introduction of VerifiedView (which Cam v3 supports but which they have not added to Cam v2’s firmware), that’s probably where the line is. I wouldn’t expect those older Cams to receive VerifiedView firmware or app UI updates, and I imagine at some point the Android v2.50x users (and any iOS users running older versions of that OS that don’t support the newer Wyze app) are also going to be out of luck.

I think users of newer Wyze Cams (Cam v4, Cam Pan v3, etc.) might appreciate that Cam v3 now has a similar app UI, but a lot of Cam v3 users have been complaining here in the Forum and elsewhere, so you’re not alone. I don’t imagine Wyze would go back to trying to support the older UI style at this point, though, because that would seem like a step backwards in a lot of ways, particularly if they’re able to use their drive toward UI consistency to produce more efficient code for the app.

The thing is I have used wyzecam for many years. The old classic layout is what I always used. So now, it looks much different with the wyzecam 3. I prefer how it looks on the other wyzecam 2 that I have access to.

So I can’t change the layout to the old classic layout then? Do people who have been using wyzecam for years like this for their wyzecam 3? I can’t imagine that many people prefer this right? The classic method looked much better.

@grapefruityoda already answered this question above.

I provided one answer to this question previously. Like I wrote (and linked) before, Wyze has created a topic describing some of the recent UI changes, and I imagine this was largely a response to the vocal disappointment of so many long-time Cam v3 users. You’re welcome to add your voice, and you can search the Forum for other posts discussing dismay with various elements of the Cam v3 UI change, but I wouldn’t anticipate any effort from Wyze to make the older style UI available for Cam v3 or any older Cams again.

I have six V3s and to be honest, the new UI doesn’t bother me at all. I already forgot how the old interface looks.
