VDBv2 goes offline roughly once a month

Hello,
I have a VDBv2 that goes offline roughly once a month.
It give me the flashibg orange circle. The only way I’ve been able to get it online again, is to unwire it so it has no power. I then add a new device. Tell it I don’t want cam plus, even though I already have it for the camera. Then I have to set the type of doorbell I have so the house chime will work.
Has anyone else experienced this, is there a fix, or at least an easier way to get it back online.
I tried the restart camera button from the app, but since it’s offline that function does not work. I have not tried the reset service button.
Thanks

Apparently this is a known issue, because a β firmware was released for it a couple of days ago:

I have tried that on other cameras at the advice of other Forum members in an attempt to resolve other issues, but I’ve seen no discernible effect and don’t have any evidence that it does anything to help non-subscribers. I don’t think you’d harm anything by trying it, but I’m skeptical that it’s going to resolve your issue. :man_shrugging:

Thanks. After I posted, I went to do my usual routine. But this time I only had to power cycle it. I’m on v 0379 . I wish it wouldn’t go offline. But was happy when I didn’t have to add it as new device.
I didn’t try to have it reconnect without the power. I just went straight to my usual routine when I saw the orange. Definitely a step in the right direction. Thanks

You haven’t mentioned this so far (at least not that I’ve seen elsewhere), so if you haven’t already done this I’d make sure your transformer is delivering adequate power, as I’ve read elsewhere on the Forum about power issues contributing to connectivity issues:

In that second topic, one of the Wyze founders indicated that they’re looking at continuous recording to microSD as being potentially related, as well, so I can only speculate that some of that thinking may have gone into the latest β firmware engineering. :man_shrugging:

I would guess that your power supply is probably okay since you’re reporting the issue so rarely, but I think it would be a good thing to check off the list as a potential contributor to your issue.

I took my SD card out and it still lost connectivity 12 hours later. Patiently waiting for a fix

I read that in a related thread, too. I’m still operating with the hypothesis that Wyze foodged something(s) in the firmware releases since January, so I’m trying to be optimistic that they can isolate and squash some bugs in a future release, hopefully something that both arrives soon and is stable.
