Welcome to the forum.

You bring up an interesting idea. I never thought of using the floodlight for timelapses. I do timelapses behind windows and found ambient light to be sufficient.

I wonder if strobing would be annoying for you or your neighbors, or would the light be on constantly?

Welcome to the Forum, @timsvdd!

I haven’t ever seen that idea suggested before, and I wonder if it’s something that you might want to post to the Wishlist. You can read about that here:

As far as I know, what you’re suggesting isn’t currently possible, but it seems like a cool idea. I’m imagining, for example, that someone might set a time lapse with a capture interval of 5 minutes, so that maybe at 4:55 or so the spotlight would turn on, and then the camera would adjust to the new lighting conditions for the capture, and then the spotlight would turn off several seconds afterward? Something like that?

At this point, though, if you want additional light for time lapses in darker environments, then you’re probably going to have to tweak the Night Vision Mode settings and/or provide an alternate source of illumination.

I’m not really sure what you mean by this:

How could you expand on this thought or phrase it with more detail?
