It is wild to me, that the NEW floodlight cannot do timelapse, when the old one could, and really every other Wyze camera I can think of, can. Why is this?
Firstly, I agree that it would be nice to have timelapse on this camera. I will also advocate for this and if someone adds it to the wishlist, I will vote on it. So know that I am supportive and want this too.
Yours is the first post I’ve seen mentioning this, so it unfortunately sounds like not too many people care for it on this camera, or miss it yet, which is surprising to me. I love timelapse features, but I suspect that most people use portable cameras for most of their timelapses and that it isn’t as important to them on a camera like this that is often pointing downward and seeing things farther away.
My guess is that the previous one had it mostly because it used a V3 cam, which can also separately be a portable camera too, that will do more things besides an overview of a driveway/yard that most people will use it for.
I think plenty of people would love to use these to take timelapses of things such as:
- Storms in general
- Snow piling up or shoveling it off
- Some might have good sunset/sunrise views
- House projects (putting up a fence, playground, swimming pool, taking down a big tree, or anything else that is a big change on their property).
- Show how a garden or flower garden changes over a certain number of days?
I mean, really, the possibilities are endless, but those are common things I’ve seen people do with timelapses that these cameras would do well with.
The best way to show Wyze we want this, will be for someone to submit it as a “Wishlist” request in the Wishlist category. I know Employees actually see and report on those wishlist requests to the appropriate teams. It will also make it so others can add their vote and comments to it so that Wyze can see how in demand the feature is, but nobody has even requested this yet. If anyone does, I will whole-heartedly support and advocate for it as well.
Edit: This thread was converted to become the wishlist for this, and we have been informed from Wyze that this feature is in fact something Wyze plans on implementing for this device.
Thank you very much for your response, I’m not super great at these forums, if you want to add it to the wishlist or whatever, please do, use my original post if you want, or I’ll mess around with it later and try and get it figured out. I would just think that the latest and greatest should be able to do timelapse, when the old one did, regardless that it used a separate V3 or not. Had I known this, I likely wouldn’t haven’t bought the pro, but I assumed (and yes, I should’ve remembered what “assume” means, lol) that it just….had the normal timelapse functionality.
I’ll let the mods know you want this converted to be an official wishlist.
Thank you much!
@mike965 I have moved your topic over to the #wishlist. Remember to scroll up to the top and click the VOTE button.
Thanks Loki!
I’ve now voted on this wishlist too! Hopefully we can get enough people interested in this. Timesheet time lapse is a feature I’ve always loved about most Wyze cams
Thank you - will do!
This strikes me as odd as well. We shouldn’t have to wish list this when it is a normal feature on numerous other Wyze products and especially the first Wyze Floodlight. What are they thinking?
Agreed, went to go initiate a Time Lapse a few days ago, only to discover the feature was left out of the Floodlight Pro.
Hopefully the feature is added back in to this device.

This is something we plan on implementing for the Wyze Cam Floodlight Pro.
Yay! Thanks for letting us know, Jason! I would love to use this sometimes when I have big events at my house.
Another vote for time lapse. I don’t use it often but when I do i really like it. Huge oversight not to have it
I just got this cam and would really like timelapse as well!
I am voting for time lapse.
thought it would have time lapse based on the other cameras and chose the floodlight specifically for time lapse because my pool construction starts later this month and I really wanted to capture the process.
I am so disappointed.
That’s great.
Will it be implemented soon?
My pool construction starts later this month and I really wanted to capture it. It is the reason why I chose this floodlight camera, based on all of the other cameras having time lapse.
I do not think it will be soon enough to capture your pool construction, unfortunately.
