It appears my V4 SD Playback now has the skips.
SD card is a Samsung Pro Endurance 256 GB card that has been in use for 5 months.
I guess I will take the card out and do a full format to see if that will fix it. If not I have a new 128GB card on standby. Maybe change the power adapter if that doesnāt work.
Come on man! Your dragging the V4 through the mud
It will be in the MUD if it doesnāt stop giving me problems.
Iām running the same 256 GB card in 2 of my Cam v4s with no skipping or other issues. Iām running production 4.52.7.0367 firmware and using the Android 3.0.0.519 app. Also using the Wyze-supplied power adapters and cables. Just wonderingā¦ is that clip from a cloud event or SD recording? And do you see skipping while live streaming? Do you have Smart Focus enabled?
The clip is from the SD recording that I recorded manually, they are all like that. Cloud recording works just fine. My entire house was power cycled three times list week, maybe something got broke? Live stream is fine.
Cloud recording example:
I have another friend seeing the same thing. The skipping stuff looks almost exactly like what we saw happening to some people (but not all) on the V3Pro when it first launched. Wyze mostly resolved it for the V3Pro. Hopefully they can do the same with the V4. It feels almost identical (weird skipping happening to some but not all)
Thank you! I think I see the same problem. If I view an event, then tap the Playback button, the stream from SD has a slight stutter, sometimes skipping in 2-second increments. Itās like the stream from cam/SD to app canāt keep up with appās demand to stream period, which implies caching issue. If I hit rewind 30s a few times, and then let it play, the skipping disappears. Do you see the same?
I will check when I come back from golf
Yep I see the same problem on the Cam V3 too. I thought it was the Wi-Fi connection at first, but after rewinding 30 sec few times the skipping disappears completely.
Wyze already has the āLoadingā and āLoading eventā notices in place as evident when initiating a live stream, an event or SD steam, and displays the same notice during comm degradation or interruption, so the logic is already there. Looks like Wyze just needs to tweak some threshold constants related to cache loading of all stream types from SD.
On the V4 I moved the time back and forth on some day and night videos and the skips were not as jerky and seemed less in duration. I watched a 3 minute playback video from my V3 PRO also with the same Samsung Pro Endurance 256GB card and the entire playback was smooth the entire time. I then checked some V3 cams and they also do not have the skipping playback, they have the 128GB Samsung cards.
Iāll get the card from the V4 and see how it plays on a PC.
We had the same issues with Cam v3 and Cam v3 Pro when they launched. Wyze patched those issues for those cams with subsequent firmware updates. Iām hoping that whatever weāre seeing on Cam v4 playback can be fixed similarly. Weāre just going to have to get some other users to verify (@Mavens?) and then get Wyzeās attention if the issue is widespread.
This V4 Skipping is a recent issue for me. Maybe the gang has been up to no good. And like I said my entire house was power cycled 3 times last week.On Monday the power company PG&E replace my electrical meter that hasnāt worked for 28 months, no smart meter, no display. I got fed up paying an āEstimatedā electrical bill . After that we had two unplanned power outages.
@cyberdog_17 I know youāre experiencing this issue. Care to chime in this thread so we can add your verification to the list of people reporting this issue?
Sorry folks, but my V4 works as expected on iPhone. On iPad, not so much, landscape view still needs work, but you already knew that
At the cottage I have a smart meter that was installed in 2004. I still get Estimated Bill and itās freaking higher than the one at home. Have I said that I hate the utilities companies!
I made the Power company an offer they couldnāt refuse.
Not seeing a skipping issue on my V4s
My V4 is normally plugged into a surge protector which is plugged into a KASA smart plug. I manually unplugged the cam, made sure all connections on the power adapter were tight and plugged it back in. I made a video of me walking in front of it and it didnāt appear to skip but I need to wait for a vehicle or two to come down the street and see how it does.
** First vehicle just came by and the playback looks good (for Now).
No love from the V4.I had some vehicle videos from late last night and initial playback from the SD has horrible stop and go skips. I moved the timeline slider back and forth and played the videos again and they play without the skips?
Anyway Iām going to get the stepladder out and get the card and play it on VLC later to see how it looks then do a full format with SD formatter.
