That’s what I’m seeing also.
Thanks for the tag! Yes absolutely am experiencing the “skipping playback” issue. Watching the livestream works totally as expected. When viewing events whether via the mobile app or through Wyze Web View, it quickly becomes clear that the events are not being recorded properly or whatever is causing the skipping sensation. It is so very similar to the issue that the v3 Pro’s used to have. WiFi connection could not be stronger and I am regularly auditing the connection to verify it isnt’ on my end. All v4’s experience the issue.
My Wi-Fi is good, live stream and cloud videos are good. The initial playback from the micro SD is horrible, the second playback of the same event on the SD is good.
I am still using the iOS app 2.50.9.1.
Bizarre I removed the SD from the V4 and all the videos play without skipping BUT? The one of the vehicle last night starts out at normal speed as the car comes down the street and stops to drop of a newspaper across the street. When the car starts moving again it looks like it is slow motion, not skipping, just smooth consistent but very slow. I can’t make the cloud video or the SD recording files small enough to post here, but it is a strange issue.
This is the last part of the playback from the V4 SD Card, the first half is recorded and plays at normal speed. Even the second indicator on the timestamp is moving slow.
This is from the cloud video, regular speed.
I wonder if enabling or disabling Hardware Decoder makes any difference for you ? Just when Wyze fixed your V4 Smart Detection, a new issue arises like clockwork
I’m using iOS and if it has Hardware Decoder I have no idea where it is at.
I guess iOS don’t have that option.
On my V3 I only have the stutter on my first SD playback. Afterwards, it is smooth when I press rewind 30 sec to play again. Also, if I record the playback footage then it is completely smooth even on my first SD playback.
Your V4 issue is actually recording in slow motion. I guess that’s a new feature lol. Is there a difference of the footage between viewing SD through Event and accessing the SD footage via Live Stream ?
No difference where it is played back from. I took the card out and played it on three different video players including VLC. The strange part is the first part of video I posed was in normal speed up until the vehicle stopped moving. When it started to move again is was all slow. The entire video on the SD was way to large to post. I just got tired of it and formatted the card, changed the power adapter to a 5V-2A and said screw it. Why would the V3 Pro be 5V-2A and the V4 5V-1A when they are both 2K ? (Larger Files). My V3 Pro works great.
Well crap, I was going to say this seems like a buffering issue when you’re playing it back through the camera but it sounds like you’ve figured out that’s not it. And reading through some of these it sounded like everything was at the camera itself. You seem to have dissuaded that argument. I’ll go back through when I can and see if I have it on any of mine but I haven’t seen it recently, and most obviously your Wi-Fi is not going to be affecting that…(You know the old mantra for heaters lol) And I know SD card error is usually don’t persist with something like this.
I’m going to have to get nerdy on this one
Good point, maybe that is why I don’t see this behaviour on my V4. I have all my cameras on a non Wyze 2Amp adapters. Don’t trust Wyze adapters and they stick too much from the outlets.
Recorded this from the SD card playback this morning. I moved the timeline slider up and down before recording the event. The cloud video never even recorded the car coming, just turning around and leaving?
Yup, mine has been doing that on and off for weeks now, software version doesn’t seem to affect it here.
Side note, I’d love the ability in filters to stop scanning for pets, I pick up every stray cat that walks around the 6 cameras. People and cars are all I need. The web interface on my subscription can’t connect to all the cameras as well. Can we get the basics fixed before adding more fluffy options that I’ll not be using, thanks.
