V4 notifications to Samsung watch do not show images but v3 do

I have a Samsung Galaxy S25 phone and the latest Samsung 2025 ultra watched. I noticed that I’m getting a photo with my notification on my v3 cameras but not on my v4’s. I looked to see if there was a setting I was missing but didn’t see anything. Please see images for an example. My v4 does have Cam Plus while my v3 does not. All cameras also have SD cards.
Any ideas why this isn’t a consistent notification experience?

My guess is that the Samsung watch only supports what are called BigPictureStyle notifications (standard static image notifications) And apparently don’t support the animated GIF notifications.

Have you verified whether the V4 notifications have an image coming in on your phone? If they are coming in on your phone but not on the Samsung than the above is almost definitely what’s going on. But if they’re not coming in on your phone either, it could be something else.

Are you able to Unassociate your v4 from Cam Plus at least temporarily to test Notifications?

Also, is the Naming of your v4 camera longer than the v3 Naming?

@carverofchoice Yes. All camera notifications provide an image on my phone. Animated gif notitifications1? I didn’t even know there was such a thing as an animated gif notification image. I currently only shown a static image but as you can see from the image I provided, it’s only showing up for my v3 camera but not for my v4. Heck, an animated gif would be a BONUS for sure but I’d be happy just getting to see an image on my watch for all of my cameras.

Yes. My v4 camera is 15 characters while my v3 is 13 characters. I’ve now shortened it to 12 characters to see if the name of the camera will make any difference and I just got an image for the driveway so THAT must have been it…BUT my other v4 camera also has a name that is 13 characters so I’ll shorten that to 12 and see if it changes anything. I’m glad you thought of it but how stupid is that?

I got into technology back in the 1970’s computer punch card days. I still remember the MS-DOS 8 character file name limit. To this day I still try to keep things short.

I am glad you are now able to see v4 images.

Brilliant! How did you think this up? That’s weird that this makes a difference.

Looking at the OP’s watch picture in post #1, looked like “Driveway Cam V4” was squeezed into the oval display and the MS-DOS 8 character file name limit.

I got into computers in the early 80’s but I did take a programming course using an IBM 4361 and while that machine didn’t take punch cards, we had to turn in our assignments with a punch card. No escape from typos.
As far as the character limit, while I think it might be part of it, I’ve got more to add. For my v4 driveway camera that I’ve shortened the name to 12 character, here are the alerts and if they produced an image in my watch or not.

ALERT TYPE: Image (Yes/No)
Person and Vehicle: No
Person: No AND yes (once no, once yes)
Motion: Yes
Vehicle: No
Sound: Yes
