V4 camera connectivity

I use the app to watch my dogs while I’m away or at work. One is deaf and has seizures. I use the app on my android phone and an IPad. All of the sudden the cameras will not work on my IOS IPad. I keep getting error 14 or error 23. I have Uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Removed and added back the cameras. Checked app updates. Checked firmware. Reset everything. And nothing works. They still work fine on android. Please help  my firmware version is 4.52.9.5332. App is 3.9.1.1. IOS 15.8.5

I have five V4 cams and they all work fine on my iPhone and iPad.

Cam firmware is.5332, iOS app 3.9.1 (1) iOS 26.2.

There are other users here who have stated issues with the latest firmware ,5332, I have no issues but did you recently update the firmware?

What doesn’t work? no live view, no recording, can’t connect? Did you try restarting the iPad?

That’s what I’m wondering, too, along with what app versions are being used. If @thallums2014 is using an older iPad with an iPadOS version that won’t update the Wyze app past the version required for last month’s Cam v4 firmware release, then that may be the problem. Note this:

That’s for Cam v4 firmware 4.52.9.5332.

I’m not sure when they did it, but I think at some point within the past few months Wyze bumped the minimum OS requirements for the Android app from 9 to 10. I don’t know if they’ve done something similar for iOS/iPadOS, but I would suspect that might be part of the issue.

Without information about what app versions are being used, though, it’s difficult to say.

As others have said, the new v4 firmware 5332 has been rolling out gradually (I got it last week). Once installed you need the latest (or close to it) 3.9.x Wyze app to be able to view them. The 3.x app requires a 64 bit OS.

If the iPad can only run the 2.5.x app, the options are to roll back the firmware and disable updates (which is a short term fix) or use a newer device for viewing.

I can confirm as soon as I updated to the 5332 firmware, my v4 stopped working in the latest 2.5 app on my old android phone. I can see event pictures, but cannot view live stream or authenticate to the cam at all. If I tap an event it does let me try to view the SD card but then fails (since that requires authentication also). Have not attempted to try changing settings but I suspect that might fail too.

Something I’ve noticed on my Panv3s on the latest firmware (from a while ago, been happening since then, and that firmware also broke some compatibility with the older app) and now on the v4 with the latest firmware, it will seem to load the live view really quickly, but then it is just a still image for a bit, and then it actually goes live. Just a “side note".

I can confirm that minimum requirement for the Wyze app is still iOS 16 as I am running 16.7.12 on my 2017 iPad, V4 firmware 4.52.9.5332 and app version 3.9.0 (7). When I first updated the firmware I had couple connection and event glitches, but those are long gone now. Hard reboot and reset services fixed them all.

so basically, if I have older ipad, there only way to restore connectivity is roll back the firmware. Right?

If it can’t run iOS 16, yes you’ll need to manually downgrade the firmware and disable auto firmware updates.

Just be aware that more and more stuff is losing compatibility with that old/unsupported app version, so this is a band aid (and you’re also sacrificing the additional security that these new firmwares are adding).

Curious if you notice that when first bringing up the live view, you get a still image, then the screen refreshes 5 or so seconds later and goes live? My Panv3s started this a while ago (not positive if it was firmware or app update) and this v4 firmware has caused my v4 to do it too. Not a huge deal but if you want to see who is at the door, etc, it is sort of annoying.

My V4 cams show a 1 second picture of the previous event then load Live View using iOS.

I have Cam Unlimited.

Up until this firmware my v4 would take a bit longer to load but was immediately live view. Now it behaves more like my Panv3s where it loads quicker but it is a still frame for like 5 seconds. I don’t think it is the previous event but it could be, haven’t looked that closely.

I prefer the old way, the total time to get to live view was less, even though it took longer to “authenticate”.

unfortunatly I cannot see any downloadable links at the camV4 firmware :frowning:

Where did you look? The Release Notes & Firmware Page has links to download several Cam v4 firmware versions. You’ll want to be sure that you’re not looking at the section for Cam Pan v4 on that page, as the firmware versions are different and no individual links for Cam Pan v4 firmware downloads have been posted to date, AFAIK.

that’s how my v4 pan is doing can’t view on tiny cam anymore and pan 3 either because of update got to roll back the 3 and thinking of taking the new 4 back not all that impressed with it who knows if tiny cam is going to even update for those cams

Thats is the firmware version I have 4.52.9.5332.

Nothing works. No live view. If I try to open the cam. Eventually I get one of the two errors.

How do you manually downgrade?

No, I don’t have that issue. My issues were failing to connect and not recording events to the cloud and SD card. Hard reboot and reset services fixed it.

Live view on the V4 is almost instant.

how do you hard reboot i know rolling back the update is a pain in the ass

Unplug the power, wait 10-15 seconds and plug it back in. I have smart plugs on all my cameras so I don’t have to manually do it.
