USPS Shipping and Tracking C'mon People

Wyze has been amazing i getting orders processed and shipped. I am not impressed with FedEx smartpost but when FedEx hands the shipment off to USPS I can see and track its progress. The US Post Office continues to be the best method of shipping small package and letters. Informed Delivery notifies me when the shipping label is printed and tells when it is expected to be delivered when they receive the shipment from the shipper. I look at the photos of my mail USPS provides each morning of what will be placed in my mailbox to decide if I want to walk out to get it or just let it stay till the next day. Keep up the fantastic job Wyze and I will keep buying your great products.

I just don’t see the big deal about tracking. It gets here when it gets here. I’ve never had a problem perceived or real.

i wonder why you’re having these issues. i dont recall ever having had such problems, tho i only ship occasionally for ebay sales, i do a lot of online buying and thus receiving thru usps. i’ve only recently encountered anything close to this upon moving to a new zip where the address carriers were crap. that however, seems to have also been fixed. i experience this more w/ fed, ups and dhl, al of whom use usps for the endpoint deliveries, and then i do see these kidns of things. your point that it’s not the fault of the shipper once they’ve entered their parcel into the system (not just the label) is completely valid tho. that said, to say they’re to blame followed by ā€œbecause of covidā€ is particularly funny

Without USPS you would see postage double and what about Covid-19? How efficient are you going to be when an employee has it and 50 of his co workers call in sick when they find out?

I track all shipments to me, and in the past 2+ years I’ve has 27 USPS packages delivered, 24 of them had no problems; 3 of them had tracking issues. All told, given the realities of what they are being asked to do, I have no problem with their performance.

remember what Cher said ā€œbe careful what you wish for, you may get itā€ spent 7 years there in the 80’s toughest job I ever had. clerk/carrier/oic

And back in the 80’s there weren’t as many alternate carrier services as there are now. We’ll be just fine without the Post Office.

some will, some won’t. some people still send checks and receive bills instead of using e-services. twenty more years and most of us dinosaurs will be extinct. The biggest service the PO provides is daily to every location, every location. metro will survive just fine small town america not so sure.

also just remembered, the PO only has protection on First Class mail, competition has always been allowed on other classes

I commend you

I’ll throw my two cents in here, reiterating how insanely inefficient FedEx SmartPost is from a consumer point of view. I placed my order last Thursday, 4/23. It shipped from the Greenwood, IN distribution facility on 4/23. Greenwood, IN is less than a 2 hour drive from me, but because of the less than urgent mode of freight that FedEx SmartPost is, I have a scheduled delivery date of 4/30. 1 week, to deliver to an address ~100 miles away. I understand how shipping and freight works, I work as an account manager for a national CPG company. I’m solely chiming in for how inefficient/frustrating to a consumer it appears when you have a package take a week to deliver that could be picked up from the shipping point in literally a half-business day (4 hours, round trip).

Greenwood, IN->Grove City, OH (190 Miles between the two, going the wrong way, ~120 miles from delivery address)
Grove City, OH->Columbus, OH USPS Facility
Columbus, OH USPS Facility->Cincinnati, OH USPS Facility (100 mile transit, 30 miles from delivery address)
Cincinnati, OH USPS Facility->Local Town Post Office
Post Office->Delivery Address

I could not disagree more, and I’m no fan of the USPS. I’m one of their biggest critics. I’ve filed numerous complaints over the years. And yet…they can get something from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Manchester, New Hampshire in two days, and for FAR less cost than FedEx or UPS.

They are far superior to FedEx Smartpost and UPS Surepost, IMO. I have rarely had trouble with the USPS’ tracking system, other than the fact that it takes several hours after an item is in their hands to appear in the tracking system (whereas regular FedEx and regular USP usually have the items appear in their tracking systems within a few minutes). But after that, USPS’ tracking system is pretty robust and informative.

Wyze, if you’re reading this, I will only continue buying your products if you ship USPS. If you continue to ship with, or expand your shipping with, FedEx Smartpost, I will be a former customer. Just as I am a former customer of Keurig, Fitbit, and Lifeproof, because they use FedEx Smartpost, the worst shipping service on the planet, IMO.

I’ve found that all carriers have issues at times. I do not have issues with USPS, recent items I have shipped were trackable, one took three days across country, one took two days. I haven’t had any issues with received packages recently either, Amazon is shipping more smaller packages through USPS, my Informed Delivery lets me know they are on the way, and when to expect delivery. I’m not sure what your issue with tracking is, but its not the norm. The USPS moves a lot of packages, sometimes things happen, I’ve had worse issues with UPS, delivering to the wrong place, or showing delivered, but they never did, or Fedex just flat out losing a package, entered a facility, never to be seen again. And how does Amazon lose a package that was attempted to be delivered to an Amazon Locker, tells me they need access to the delivery location, did I mention it’s an Amazon Locker, then tell me the package is irrevocably lost, and to reorder. Stuff happens.

I ordered some masks as well as 3 motion sensors on the 17th. It looks like they were both shipped on the 21st, but I got my masks days ago and have no received my motion sensors. The tracking shows that USPS hasn’t even received the package. Should I be worried?

A better way to track …

ā€œUSPS United States Postal Service is a joke when it comes to tracking a package period. The only thing their tracking numbers are good for is to prove something entered the system in case it never arrives so you can report it lost. I have NEVER had a package that was trackable in route with them.ā€

If you NEVER had a package trackable with USPS, I’m guessing you’ve used USPS only once or twice. I’m an eBay seller and I have Amazon Prime and am constantly buying or selling smaller things that get shipped through USPS. Often the USPS is alot cheaper than UPS (and don’t even talk to me about Fedex - not sure how they stay in business). I have probably shipped or had shipped to me 400+ items through USPS, and only once have they let me down (package got lost). One other time the tracking number didn’t work until a few hours after it was delivered to me.

Other than that (the 99+% of the time) the USPS has been ROCK SOLID. I believe most of the problem with USPS tracking is operator error - people don’t put the number in right.

I don’t begrudge Wyze for using USPS, they are still way cheaper than UPS or Fedex

I don’t know how people can complain about how slow the USPS is when Wyze shipped face masks on 4/23/20, via Fedex, from California and they haven’t reached Pennsylvania in 10 days let alone be delivered. USPS slowest service, Parcel Post, would probably have been delivered by now.

Right! I received a 40lb huge box from Amazon this week from USPS. Amazon is using USPS more and more, because they are doing better at handling the increased volume better than UPS, or Fedex.

This is why I hate FedEx smartpost shipping. It is also why some shipments get lost. It was supposed to be here today May 6, until they started the rescheduled game. Please stop using the FedEx smartpost.

I have yet to receive my order. It’s been well over 3 weeks. I received an email that stated that it was shipped, but no updates have been provided bases on the tracking number. I’ve attempted to contact you all multiple times and have not gotten a response. Order# 001786587

I’m going to keep posting this same message until someone messages back. I run a small pediatric clinic and am in need of a reliable thermometer. Totally get that we are in pandemic, but it’s been too long.
