I am wondering why my V4 camera is showing in Google home but when I click on it it says that the camera is not available?

I don’t have an answer to the “why”, but viewing cameras in the Google Home app on iOS has been an ongoing problem for a long time. Here are just a couple of example topics:

Google Home link available, integration doesn’t work

I have my Wyze account linked to my Google Home account. My Google Home app recognizes that the cameras exist (they are in “rooms”), but they cannot connect when I ask my hub to show a live feed of any camera. I have a camV1 and two camOG. The V1 is able to be turned on and off via Google, but nothing is able to “connect” to the camera to view the feed. I am gathering this is an issue for other platforms and has been an issue for awhile. Please fix the integration issue! [IMG_1174]

Cameras still don’t integrate with Google Home

None of my cameras will integrate with Google Home, thus I can’t take advantage of automations. Wyze support has been consistently disappointing. They can’t even be arsed to provide an update. Any suggestions on other doorbell cameras that actually work?

It’s recently become problematic even for Android users:

Wyze Cam Outdoor v1 and v2 in Google Home

Until recently, I was able to stream Wyze cams on my cellphone Google Home app; today I no longer have that access. I have no idea what happened. At the begining when I attempted to stream a cam, a message displayed with a long list of Nest devices asking if I had any linked to my home account, when I replied no, the response was to go back or create a Nest network. I opted to go back and I was returned to the screen with the list of Nest devices. Next I tried the create a Nest network option an…

In the case of the iOS Google Home app issue, the sense that I’ve gathered is that the problem is between Apple and the Google Home team. Since I don’t use iOS devices, I don’t know if what I’ve recently begun seeing on Android is related to that issue, but it appears that Google has made some changes on their end that are now affecting even Android users.

I can still stream Wyze Cams to a Google Home Hub, a Chromecast, and a Google TV by asking Google Assistant, but I learned last night that a Routine that used to stream a camera to the Home Hub no longer does so. I think that’s on Google, too.

I understand the convenience of centralizing smart home things to a single app and platform; however, I think with Wyze Cams your best experience is going to be using the Wyze app.

I can confirm that Wyze cams don’t show up on Google Home but work just fine in the Alexa app

Yeah, especially since you’re identifying as an iOS user, unfortunately.

Let me be clear about that: it’s unfortunate that it doesn’t work for iOS users. I’m not anti-iOS. I get frustrated when I read about iOS users having problems that Android users don’t have and vice versa.
