More Ughs: I get a banner saying something like āsee whatās new and updatedā with a ā1ā badge - but thereās never anything in there, so I just swipe left and dismiss it.
And another: I get a message saying āComplete Motion Detectedā on my one outdoor cam. What is Complete Motion? Is there such a thing as incomplete motion?!
Sometimes I get Person Detected - that makes sense.
Actually, yes: Those who use some of the older doorbells, or who have Cam Plus Lite, get incomplete events with motion. It will only record for 12 seconds of motion once every 5 minutes at the most. So it is common for people to have motion events where the recording does not capture the complete motion motion and only records a small part of the event. However, if those people who get Cloud events upgrade to Cam Plus, then they can have the complete motion event recorded instead of the incomplete recording of that same motion event like they get now.
The term āCompleteā in notifications was overlooked when transitioning legacy service name āComplete Motion Capture (CMC)ā to āCam Plusā. Itās on the Wyze radar and should be going away soon.
But Iāve been around too long and certain behavior seems much more deliberate than incidental or unintentional. So I consider the wording to be semi subtle type marketing attempt where wyze is hammering us that moniker reminding us that wyze does have in fact complete motion recording ability but as you are aware these clips will only show 12 sec every 5 min, of that motion so you really should be buying our service.
Not really. āComplete Motion Detectedā is being displayed on notifications across the board regardless of event length and regardless of service type or no subscription service. The title āComplete Motion Detectedā is currently used to describe a motion-triggered event that includes no AI object. The word āCompleteā is extraneous. The title simply means that āotherā motion was detected. Ref: "Complete Motion Detected" notification - #3 by Seapup
Interestingly, in the last day or two, I just started seeing Complete Motion notifications on my OG camera. Itās very frustrating, because I have it set to notify me only when a person is detected.
But now, in the middle of the night if thereās any motion outside, it wakes me up with an alert that just says Complete Motion detected. I have the settings set to NOTIFY me only when a person is detected but I do have it set to RECOGNIZE person, pet, vehicle, and package.
I need to figure this one out. Once I wake up Iām finding it pretty tough to get back to sleep, wondering what set off the camera.
I just discovered the new Reset Services button for all the cameras. Maybe that will fix it.
I think you missed my point. I know what you are saying and I know it did not actually capture what it says - complete. Plus all those pics of AI event selectors donāt relate to those without camplus. Iām saying itās a sort of a marketing moniker that wyze deliberately is using to remind us of what we are missing. A sort of subliminal message so users say āgeeesh there is complete motion Iām missing with just 12 sec, wow, I need to subscribe!ā Alternatively for those who do subscribe, itās validation that youāve not missed out and you got the complete motion recorded as you desire. So itās a win-win moniker that the wyze marketing geniuses determined will be an effective arrow in their advertising quiver at no additional cost to them. Anything they can reinforce in the or by the app is essentially free advertising.
That was very true. But itās evolved and I think forgotten by Wyze. We now have overt popup ads to remind us of what we might be missing without a subscription. And sometime even with a subscription.
