Tired of Ongoing SD Card Not Supported Errors

I have 3 Cam Pan v3’s and they’’re always having SD card errors. This time around 2 of 3 cameras have the “MicroSD Card Not Supported” error. Then it prompts to format, and that fails as well. These MicroSD cards (Sandisk Ultra 32GB) were replaced the last time I had a similar error. I’ve grown tired of climbing ladders to replace these cards, which were working a week ago when I last checked. Of course when recording to these cards stops, the iphone app gives no notification of a potential problem - meaning days or even weeks may go by without me ever knowing they aren’t recording.

I can take these supposedly unsupported MicroSD cards and use them in another budget brand’s cameras and they record just fine. Would be nice if Wyze fixed this, but the Cam Pan v3 eating SD cards like candy has been an ongoing problem for me. Running the latest firmware version 4.50.15.4800 as well.

Check out the wyze news forum as there is a thread where they’re discussing the Panv3 SD card issues. I’m not sure if any fixes have been incorporated into the current beta firmware/app yet or not, but you can supply your info there as it will help them fix it.

As @dave27 suggested, Wyze is soliciting feedback to directly address these kinds of issues:

You may want to look at that topic and share the information requested there.

There’s a Wishlist topic specifically for this:

I’m not one to post , however here I am!

I’ve had Wyze since the V1 was born. One is still included in my fleet of 30+ cams. More if counting other Wyze products.

Problems, yes, they are electronic and Awesome! I don’t call for help until I flat give up! Most problems fix them selves or self inflicted. Oh! Maybe my network of 6 AP’s , 4 routers, and a 70+ devices and a network cluster.

I am also in the SD card fiasco and was planning on replacing a V3 today due to the failure of recording vandalism yesterday. Then I read the forum and checked other cams. Note….I always suspect myself first!

I noticed in comparison of other cams, delay in cloud recordings, and the green time line bar delayed in appearance. In fact now one is showing the blue action line and no green bar.

So I have still shots only at times on panv3, and V3. No 12 sec video. Not sd card.

At times jumping video with pauses.

“no video available” on only one cam.

“SD card not available.” I replaced a pan V3 for the same reason. I could get it back for a while then reoccurring. Testing in other location, new card. It has been working after same happening again.

When entering setup, SD card being turned off! I had not changed it.

Due to one of my most important camera I have not considered a hard reset to the v3 or format with my needed recording still on it. I at times can get parts off of it. So attempt continues.

So for now with faith in Wyze, I’m delaying my order of a solar cam ans friends want ME to test before they buy. I am going to put a new, in box v4 up next to it and compare.

I’m sure this will be resolved by Wyze! We need a little, patience.

Thanks for the link, and I will submit my info to the thread.

Apparently Wyze has firmware (Beta) Wyze Cam Pan v3 Firmware Beta Test 3/16/2026 to address the SD card issue. But it hasn’t been pushed out to everyone yet, and from what I can tell those Beta testers never experienced the SD card problem. This Beta firmware needs to be pushed to those of us experiencing these problems.

Since I don’t use iOS, I’m not sure if the options are quite the same (or if it’s necessary to enroll in the beta program first), but you could look in the app at  Account ➜ About ➜ Beta Program to see if it’s possible to select the beta firmware channel for Cam Pan v3. If it is, then you could try individually updating one affected camera to see what happens. Also, if you’re able to do that, then I’d be inclined to disable automatic firmware updates on all the other Cam Pan v3s first so that you’re not unintentionally updating all of them with beta firmware in case there’s a problem.

@Crease

Great advice, just as in your post above. Thank you. The Beta enrollment feature is there in the IOS app, which might be worth a try. When I get the chance I will look into it in more detail. Thanks again for your helpful replies.

You’re welcome, and I’m glad you find this helpful. I’ve also been frustrated by microSD recording issues on Cam Pan v3, and it’s puzzled me for nearly two years why only one of the Cams seems to be affected and the other (I’m using two of this model, purchased and activated at different times) has apparently never had any difficulty with microSD card recognition, recording, or playback. I hope they’re able to find an answer.
