Anyone else having the “MicroSD Card Not Supported” message suddenly?
I’ve got 5 Wyze Cam Pan v3 cameras that are about a year old that are suddenly saying “MicroSD Card Not Supported. Unsupported microSD card detected. Do you want to format the microSD card now?” message. I try to format the SD cards using the app, but it says formatting failed. I figured that since the cameras are a year old maybe the SD cards have just gone bad (which is frustrating because I used good, expensive, quality SD cards!), so I replaced the cards but I’m still getting the same error messages.
I’ve tried formatting the SD cards using my computer following the instructions on the Wyze Website and I get the same errors in the cameras.
I also have 5 Wyze Duo Cam Pan cameras, 5 Wyze Cam Floodlight V2’s, and 2 Wyze Doorbell V2s that were all installed at the same time and I used the exact same Micro SD cards and they’re working just fine and don’t give that error message.
Take a look at other recent threads, it does appear the newest firmware is much more strict about SD card quality/issues. Nobody is 100% sure at this point what the exact issues are with some panv3s and certain cards, I (and others) suspect it is a mix of various different problems.
It may be your cards are fine and the firmware is an issue in your case. You can try downgrading to a previous firmware (the last downloadable one is from earlier this year) and see if that changes anything.
I typically wait a few days after new firmware comes out to see if there are any reported problems, then upgrade one cam for a few days, then do others. In this case, none of my Panv3s had any issues with this firmware, not exactly sure what the “magic combo” is that seems to be causing some people problems.
Yes, I have had a ticket open for 43 days with Wyze. The “say” it’s a priority, but I get crickets. It started after the most recent firmware update, and they will not allow me to revert to the previous one. Very poor on Wyze’s part.
