My Pan v3 says "MicroSD card not supported. It has worked previously. It is in a place that is very difficult to reach, esp because I am disabled. I have the latest FW= 4.50.17.25. When I power cycled it, it came up with a message that says “SD Card recognized”. But I still can’t use the SD card. The SD card is a Wyze Expandable Storage 256GB MicroSDXC Card Class 10. Wen I click the slide to enable it, it says “MicroSD card is not available.” Formatting says “Storage capacity unavailable” Then is says “Format Failed”.
That’s often just a sign that the SD card has reached the end of its life, but there are some other possibilities related to the cam itself too.
Unfortunately you’ll likely need to access the cam and remove the card, so you can try formatting it in a PC (full overwrite format using the utility from sdcard.org if possible) and see if it works after that.
You can try repeatedly rebooting (hard power cycling if possible) the cam and if it recognizes the card, try using the internal format function, but it likely won’t be a permanent fix. I did have a cam with a known bad card in it (certain spot where everything would have trouble writing to it), and if I forgot to format it daily it would start doing that. Sometimes several hard power cycles and/or reboots would get to the point where I could format it using the cam, but usually had to remove it and use a PC.
yeah, there’s some issue with the cameras or firmware or something. This is being reported far too often to be a SD Card issues, since I use the same cards in all my cameras and none of the others have this issue. I’m investigating my newer pan cam v3 now as it seems to have stopped recording in the last few days (or more). I really need to do a daily check on those recordings
