Swipe between screens in portrait and full-screen (e.g., swipe to switch cameras, back navigation)

Yes please add the ability to swipe to between cameras in full screen / landscape mode. This is how the Alarm.com app works. I’ve switched from them because I love the Wyze products, and the inability to swipe is the main negative. I used this functionality all the time with Alarm.com.

Able to swipe through your camera listing

I wonder if there would be a way to update the Wyze application to be able change cameras easier. Like to be able to swipe versus going back to your camera list and selecting a different camera, turning your device sideways to view bigger, then if you wanted to change cameras again, you have to turn it back, hit the back button, select a different camera.

I understand this may be difficult with the Pan cams, but maybe have a switch on the screen to toggle if they want to pan/tilt when on, and change camera when off, if they swipe.

I just find it aggravating having to select, turn, turn back, go back, and select a different camera. It would be a lot easier to select a camera, turn to get to full view, then just swipe left or right to switch. If you come across a pancam there would be a toggle to enable the pan/tilt feature.

improve Wyze iOS app navigation

Please update the Wyze app so that swiping right from the edge of the screen allows you to go back or up a menu. It would be much easier than always having to reach for the little back arrow at the top left of the screen.

From apple’s own interface guide:

Standard Gestures

People generally expect the following standard gestures to work the same across the system and in every app.

Swipe. When performed with one finger, returns to the previous screen,

Swipe to switch cameras

I’m very surprised this isn’t a feature. When in either landscape or portrait mode, I should be able to swipe left/right on my device and go to the next camera. Right now, you have to tap ‘back’ then tap new camera, then rotate device again to get landscape view. Such a pain. Make it easy. Just give us swipe abilities.

I requested this a few years ago. They don’t want to do it.

Can we please have the ability to swipe from cam to cam in the app (like an Instagram or Snapchat story). It’s very clunky to have to go back and then hit on the next cam. I have 11 cams. I want to check them all quickly. There also needs to be a thumbnail grid page that shows them all, rather than in a boring long list.

How do I vote for this?

Scroll up to the first post and vote using the button in the upper left

IOS Swipe from left side of screen to go back.

Most apps on IOS allow you to swipe from the left side of the screen to the right in order to go back. This is very convenient, rather than hitting the back arrow. This would be great if it could be added to the app!

Swipe to go back on iOS

I would like to PLEASE ask the team to consider support for “swipe to go back” on the iOS app. This gesture is standard across almost all Apple apps (probably because back button is very difficult to reach the back arrow for most users). Wyze is the only app I regularly use that doesn’t offer this gesture — I’m not sure why Wyze doesn’t use this when the vast, vast majority of iOS apps do. It is only a few lines of code to implement.

Here are some reddit/wyze threads of others who are wishing for the same:

And here is generic example of the code to implement in the source code:

self.navigationController.interactivePopGestureRecognizer.delegate = self;
//and then implement
extension MyViewController:UIGestureRecognizerDelegate {
func gestureRecognizer(_ gestureRecognizer: UIGestureRecognizer, shouldBeRequiredToFailBy otherGestureRecognizer: UIGestureRecognizer) → Bool {
return true
}
}

It really doesn’t take much effort. But it will significantly improve the lives of almost alll iOS users.

Thanks very much for your consideration. And have a good day :slight_smile:

This is probably my most request feature from the IOS app.

I desperately need the back swipe gesture.

It’s driving me insane having to do finger gymnastics every time to reach that back arrow button to go back to the previous screen.

Using the Wyze app 24/7 and adding more devices means I use the app more and more every day .

It’s absolutely annoying and frustrating that this simple back swipe gesture isn’t enable in the IOS Wyze app… that’s how important it is to me

3 years later and it’s tagged as “maybe-later”

I think this will only be achievable once the new Wyze app update comes…

Any help here as to why this hasn’t been enabled.

Please and thank you

I feel and share your pain. :pensive: Mods and Mavens can’t answer your questions as we don’t have insight to Wyze’s task prioritization, scheduling and reasoning behind either.

Understandable but maybe one of you could poke the bear and ask the question…? Thanks :slight_smile:

If they choose to share that type of info, they’ll do it publicly here in a forum wishlist topic. :+1:

If I had to venture a guess, I would say that this is something that will not be considered until app version 3 which is in the planning stages. That’s only a guess, not based on any specific knowledge. Unfortunately, we don’t know any more but the timing of app v3 other than that is is being planned.

In WYZE app, the Back button “<” at top left corner of Camera view is too small to tap. Please follow iOS user behavior to add support of swip to right to exit to Home page.

Slide left to right for cameras…

Both my Amazon Cloud Cams and the Eufy Cams I was considering along with Wyze as their replacements had/have the ability to slide your finger across the screen to move between live view cameras.

It’s something I am reminded of how convenient it was, every time I have to back out of a camera into the Wyze list. Please consider implementing this.
