I have a Battery Cam Pro and am a new user. In fact, this is my very first security camera. I am one of those that is concerned about signing up for the Cam Plus service. I thought I would purchase a camera and test it out using the SD card and then once I got comfortable knowing I had the camera set up in the right place and figuring out what triggers and what doesn’t then I could set up an account for the free trial. The trial requires me to add a credit card and I truly hate doing that unless I am ready to bite. I guess I will need to wait a bit more before making the move or ordering some additional cameras. I know some say that recording and viewing issues are related to the use of an SD card, but I kind of thought that would be the easy part !
I would suggest trying a Wyze wired camera like the v3. There regular v3 will work on Cam Plus Lite a Wyze service where you can name the price you pay including Zero. Battery Cam Pro will not work on Lite…This way you can test the v3 on Cam Plus Lite and see if you want to pay for Cam Plus service which will work with all Wyze cameras.
I appreciate that advice. I opted for the Battery Cam Pro because I wanted a good outdoor camera and simply cannot run power to the locations where I need to mount the cameras. The last thing I want to do is have extension cords running around the house or out to the rear yard. I am not in the market for an indoor camera which would be easy for me to power.
Okay StevenA… After much discussion with my wife, she figures the best thing is to activate the free trial and see how we like it. If things go well after a week or two we can order a second camera to see how that goes for us. Thanks for your advice. You provided enough information to convince us that it has to be worth jumping in to get the full experience.
Thank You !
Hello
I offer my experience for you to consider.
I tried for a month solely because there is a website view available for your cameras as an alternative to the app. During an “outage”, there was talk that you could still view your cameras online with the website. Turns out this was partially true. Yes the view was available, but was unstable at best. I immediately unsubscribed as there is no refund available on a subscription service at WYZE.
As a utilitarian, I ask myself this. What does it do, and how well does it do it.
If you are looking to receive alerts about motion events or events, and in turn watch a video of said event, then this is a yes for cam plus.
If you would like a little bit better description of what the motion is in your alert such as a package or a pet, then this is a yes for cam plus. It was pretty good with its accuracy detection in my experience.
If you want online access to your cameras at a website in addition to your app, then again, a yes for cam plus.
There may be other reasons to say yes that I have not listed here. I offer only my experience.
Good Luck!
I have my v3 cameras inside windows looking out. Check out this thread for pictures of image quality you can expect. No battery to worry about and AC power by each window and easy to power cycle when needed
