Shared devices won’t load live stream

I couldn’t get our OG cameras to authenticate and load the live stream. My service provider did an update on their end and that fixed the problem on my app and I have live stream on all cameras. I share the cameras with two people and they cannot get the live streams to load on their end. Is it still an issue with the Internet provider or is there other suggestions? Thanks.

Maybe the sharing never set up right due to that issue. You could remove the sharing and re-share with them and see if that helps?

Does yours work both when on your home wifi and when away from home?

Yes mine works flawlessly wherever I am. I just unshared everything and reshared and they can see the base station cameras but not the OG’s

I believe he did an update to the service and he also put it so it has a password now as we were running without a Wi-Fi password before. And the code that pulls up on their phone when they’re trying to upload the camera is G99

Not sure what you mean. As long as the cam has connectivity (which it does) when you use it, the other person does not need your wifi password or anything.

Just make sure they’re running the latest version of the Wyze app.

So are they able to add the camera to their account and the live stream just won’t load, or can they not add it at all?

Yes, it’s on their account, but the live stream won’t load only on the OG cameras. The wireless cameras with the base have been working fine.

Strange. I’d say maybe have them uninstall and reinstall the app (which will also ensure they have the latest version, and will re-authenticate them to Wyze’s servers, etc).

I’ll try that but it’s just weird that mine works perfect but there’s won’t load

That’s why I’m thinking some issue with how they were shared when it wasn’t working for you either may have gotten “stuck” somewhere on their end. Worth trying at least.

If yours is working when not at home, the connectivity is there.

I still can’t figure this out. Could there be some sort of firewall within the internet not allowing the other users to access the cameras?

If yours works, theirs should as well. Do they all happen to be trying from the same wifi (or do they have the same ISP)? Ask them to try using mobile data or while away from home, their home internet could be blocking the feed just like it was on yours.

We’ve tried it all. Tried it on the same WiFi as the cameras (they are at the farm, separate from our house), our home internet (different isp) and also just on cellular. I gave the barn ISP access to the cameras and he had the same issue. The cameras are detecting sound and motion (on my wife’s app) but won’t load a live image.

So your wife is using a shared account and not the same login as you, and when you’re both on the same wifi you can view it but she can’t? Make sure you’re not attempting at the same time (I’m honestly not sure if they can support that or not, but I think they can).

Notifications use a totally different connectivity scheme than video streams, so the fact that she’s getting notifications just means the cams are able to communicate with Wyze’s servers, which we already know they can.

Honestly not sure, I haven’t played with guest accounts in quite a while, maybe there is an issue with the OGs, but you’d think there would be more reports of that here.

I still feel like it might have been something that got “stuck” back when it wasn’t working for anyone. They’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling/logging back in, and you’ve tried unsharing and re-sharing? I know I mentioned those things already but wanted to make sure it had been tried.

I suppose you could try unsharing one of the problematic cams and deleting it from your account, make sure it is gone from their accounts, then factory reset it, set it up fresh, give it a slightly different name, and try sharing it again. That should theoretically eliminate any possible stale data, authentication, etc.

To confirm, the OG cams are running the latest 1.0.84 firmware right?

They’re on 1.0.92

So you’re on the beta firmware? Have you considered posting this as an issue to the relevant Beta topic?

At the very least, I’d maybe think about dropping a link in that topic to point over here in case what you’re describing is a problem with that firmware version.

Definitely worth putting the beta icon on your profile or at least mentioning you’re running beta firmware.

It is expected certain things won’t work with betas. You should report this in the beta forum/thread, and potentially request they downgrade at least one of your cams back to prod firmware to see if that helps. Same with the app, if you’re running beta apps, test at least one with the release version.
