Satellite chimes for Doorbell Pro

Like many on here, I researched and believed that I could add multiple chimes to the doorbell pro to cover my large house only to learn when it arrived that I cannot. This is super frustrating as my three additional chimes are now useless and there are parts of my house where I cannot hear the chime that came with the unit. UGGH. This is a no-brainer. Please add ASAP

Same as many others. I found a support page that said that multiple chimes could be added to the doorbell. I purchased 2, only to find out that chimes only work with the Pro model.

I just missed a ring this morning because I could not hear the chime. Not sure why this product would make it to market without the feature that the basic unit has.

The Amazon listing makes it more clear that it does not work on the Pro model. The listing on the Wyze site leaves it ambiguous if you are not familiar with the fact that “Works only with Wyze Video Doorbell” means something distinctly different than “Wyze Video Doorbell PRO.”

Welcome to the community @jr4 , I am a volunteer community member. sorry to hear you are having this issue.

You can utilize the VoIP to receive a phone call when the doorbell is pressed. Have you tried this in the interim?

If not, you can turn this on by going to:

Account>Notifications>Push Notifications>Voice Over IP

Then turn on IP Calls

The satellite chimes do work with the Video Doorbell. (I bought one, and it works.) The issue–if I understand this post correctly–is that they do not work with the Video Doorbell Pro.

I got it backwards in that post (corrected). I got the Pro doorbell and purchased the additional chimes (which do not work).

I’m really surprised that this isn’t an option. I doubt that they would have to do any type of retooling, and it doesn’t seem necessary to have to pair the chime to the doorbell (at least not using the same local radio pairing it’s using). Why couldn’t the second chime just subscribe to a topic server-side and get a notification when the doorbell is pushed the way my phone does?

Please solve this issue. You have a great company and make good products.

I agree with BCDylan. Since the Doorbell Pro is the most expensive, my son expected that it would be able to have at least two chimes. When I’m in my basement workshop, I can’t hear the chime upstairs. So, now I have the old standard chime upstairs and the Wyze chime in the basement. People coming to the door don’t know which button to push. Can I expect an upgrade to two chimes soon?

Video Door Bell Pro

This concerns the Video Door Bell Pro model. Unlike, the standard model which allows for adding additional chimes, this feature is not available for the Pro model. That is very unfortunate because , in a larger home with a backyard porch, the Pro chime can not be heard and, unless, one carriers a phone or wears a watch, the notifications will go unnoticed. It would be great for the Pro to be updated with additional chimes which can be mounted around the house.

What I did was purchase a echo dot (you can get refurbished for 8 bucks delivered is you look around. I put the chime that came with it outside and the echo dot inside. Not the way it should be, but it works for me.

I do appreciate your response but can you please elaborate on how an Echo Dot fits into the scheme of having an additional chime? How does the dot work with Wyze? Thanks!

If your not familiar with Amazon Alexa, it will be hard for me to explain, but if your are, Echo dot is their smallest Alexa enabled speaker. You can set up the dot to respond in various ways when the doorbell button is pushed, or even is it your wyze notices movement. There is not charge from Amazon, you just need an Amazon account which I assume you already have and then download the alexa app. They you can place the dot anywhere in your house, garage etc so when someone pushes the doorbell, The dot will let you know.
A second generation dot goes for about 20 bucks on Amazon, but you can find cheaper one. I just got one for $7.99 (refurbished) from a site called Woot which is owned by amazon. There are also several other Alexa speakers for various prices, some have screens so you can also see who was at your front door without using your phone.

Thank you for the explanation. I do have and use Alexa. I just did not quite understand how this would work. For +/- $10 it is worth a try because I do really need a solution. Thanks again for explaining.

I was very disappointed to find out that I can’t add chimes to my video doorbell pro.
Our home is large enough that you can’t hear the chime in parts of the house, especially the workshop and backyard. I was expecting to be able to add a chime, especially because it’s possible to do so with the regular Wyze video doorbell.

Also, I refuse to have an Amazon Alexa (or any smart speaker that listens and transmits my personal conversations to someone else’s) in my home. Saying that this is how you can hear the chime is a total cop out. This product should be functional on its own and right now it’s much lesser than the cheaper, non Pro version.

Please consider allowing to add a few chimes to the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro.

I solved it by getting an amazon dot and programing it to respond to the doorbell. I have seen them for as low as 5 bucks refurbished.

Thank you for sharing your solution.
As I mentioned, I’m refusing to have a voice assistant in my home. It’s enough that Amazon knows my purchasing habits and I will not voluntarily have them eaves drop on our conversations too. I know I may be a little paranoid about that, but that’s my personal comfort level (or lack of).

I believe it’s reasonable to expect that a product is not damaged compared to its cheaper cousin (the regular Wyze video doorbell), which does allow multiple chimes.

Just my two cents…

Jhon, very interested in using the echo device to add to the doorbell. Do you set that by Amazon or within WYZE as a rule. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thx. Jim

I won’t be buying a Doorbell Pro without multiple chime support.
Sorry, Wyze.

Actually, if I had known the limitation, I would NOT have purchase the Video Doorbell Pro. It really is a problem for people upstairs at home. This too should be a no brainer addition!

Do I understand correctly that the non-Pro Wyze Doorbell DOES support multiple Chimes? I don’t need battery power on a doorbell, and the non-Pro model is hard wired only.

Yes this should be a no-brainer, I wonder how many brains are working at Wyze…
I did buy Echo’s to fix some of the house, but I would need 2 more…
