Are the products defective or did a 3rd party provider have a sec 1 networking issue that affected hundreds of companies? Just curious. If you have a defective product, and it’s within the warranty period, Wyze will replace it. I’m wearing my “replaced” headphones right now. I’m not trying to be confrontational but let’s be fair and honest. The products, for the most part, are an excellent value with some darn clever engineering. (At least most of them).
I tried WD40, Isopropyl alcohol, barkeeper’s friend, etc. For me, it was no longer just on the surface. This was not residue on the upper layer of polyurethane. This reacted with the poly and was below the surface. I know this because I actually took off of bit of the top layer. My flooring has a water-based poly coating. 2 coats of gloss and a final coat of matte finish. I buffed through the matte coat and revealed the gloss. Staining is still there. It would have to be sanded to bare floor to remove all the stain left by the wheels.
Read the Threads and Look at the pictures with the Ruined Floors and Carpets. Been an issue and Wyze should RECALL these. Next Caller…
Wow.
I find that “non-retentive flooring” seems to work well also
I would try WD-40 on it. It seems to remove every hard spot like that for me
Welcome to the forum.
WD-40 may work for you. It hasn’t for anyone else, including the person you responded to.
I posted a picture of my floor with stains. I was able to fade them a bit with WD40, but they won’t disappear.
I submitted a request to Wyze support and they were responsive. Because my vacuum was still under one year warranty, they sent me a new one. They told me to recycle the old one. The support person said they fixed the wheels on the new vacuum.
I received the new vacuum within 2 weeks and it has been parked for at least 2 weeks now, in the same spot. No marks on the floor, so far.
I put away the old one and started using the new one. I parked it in a hidden corner, with the same flooring and will keep checking for spots. I’ll let you know if they appear again.
Nice…More Landfill Wyze??? These should have be Recalled but then Negative Press. The word is out anyway about the Company. Please keep us Posted.
Call Wyze Support and request New rubber tires.
Nah, you’ve joined Wyze vacuum ‘Hall of Shame’
Clearly…Not their finest hour
Next will be “Wyze Floor Covers”. Laser cut from the map the vac makes and easily applied to your hardwood floors.
I will contact WeatherTech to suggest Robot Vacuum Floor/Rug Liners.
This is how my floor looks like AFTER cleaned with a Paint thinner and lemon oil. This is a case of Plasticizer Migration from the wheels into the polyurethane coating, carrying carbon black with it. Nothing will work short of sanding the coating down to bare wood and re-sealing. Wyze’s silence is inexcusable. They made a big mistake when they selected cheap inferior wheels, not matched for the job. They should own up to it and compensate us for our refinishing cost.
You and MANY other’s…Shame of the Silence this company perpetrates to it’s Buyer’s. Apparently in Seattle, Wyze has contacted users to collect the Vac (Cheap Rubber Wheels) to look at root case. As with the V1 44mm battery swelling watches that also disappeared and now we have V2 44mm…with no response to why V1 was pulled.
I think the reason they were looking for people in the Seattle area was to actually look at the floors.
so, anything new from @wyze on this? When are they going to offer to fix my floor?
I actually think this is some sort of chemical reaction with the wood tannins. Similar to the stains you would get with an uncoated nail or similar. I’ve seen a similar reaction in the oak with carpet tacks that are nailed into the oak floors. over time those nails and staples react with the tannins to product exactly this color. I think chemicals in the wheels reacted with the tannins in the oak right through the finish. And you’re correct, the only remedy is a sand and refinish. Wyze has only offered to replace my robot vacs, without actually admitting that the product is at fault or that they have resolved the issue with the replacement vac.
