Robot Vacuum Tire Marks

I received my vacuum last week. One issue off the bat is that if you have the charger on carpet the robot has a hard time mating with it. It never quite aligns itself. If you move the charger just tp the left to make it align, the vacuum also moves to the left by the same offset, I have a feeling that the signals are getting absorbed by the carpet and don’t fully bounce back. I don’t know exactly but I can reproduce the problem every time.

The major issue however which has me return the product is that it leaves black tire marks on our newly installed white carpet. When the vacuum hits an obstacle, the tires continue turning in the same spot causing black tire burn marks on the carpet. Wife just noticed it today and spent an hour with a tooth brush taking out the tire marks. Not what I’d expected from a cleaning appliance.
