Robot Vacuum Battery Replacement

So far so good on the Amazon battery, I ran a full clean and the vacuum didn’t die halfway through. Seems like this is the fix for me

Mine started off with a small pre-charge, and after went full charge , completed just a small fraction of area before needing to return to charge. Will continue to monitor as others have described similar

Thank you for this forum. My original battery is on its last leg, it has to go back and recharge about halfway through cleaning the house. Ive had the robot since their first release. I thought by the time this one died Wyze would be selling their own replacement battery. It is very disappointing to buy products from Wyze with such limited replacement support. I also still only have one charger for my Wyze watch that I bought over a year ago because they don’t sell additional chargers.

Thanks to this forum I will order the replacement battery from Amazon.

I used 4 samsung 21700 4800mah no case and some dremel work in the battery bay and used the original charging circuit…soldering required and this thing rips now
The stock batteries are 3200mah x4 in series to get you the 14v…also the 21700 has a higher discharge rate and its very noticeable

Any one having issues with battery percentage being wrong after new battery? The app will say 8%, so it doesn’t return for charging and dies. When charged says 100%.

Model: WRV200S
Firmware: 1.6.306
Plugin Ver: 2.36.1
Wyze App Ver: v2.38.0 (153)
Battery is 2 years 4 months old

I have found that allowing batteries to drain below 50% will cause some damage to the battery life! I have set it up to allow a schedule for 2 rooms at a time and it returns to charge for 30 minutes and then 2 more. It seems to be good for me.
Vac returns at 60% to 65% of charge. I’ve added a room but brings it back at 45% left in battery life.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for this post!

Ordered 2 for my vacuums (upstairs/downstairs) from AliExpress, exact replacements and I’m back on-line.

Another upvote for Wyze to sell replacement parts. I get all my rollers, filters, brushes and now batteries from other online sources.

I ordered the following from Amazon after looking at a few of the options listed in the thread above. I will post a follow-up here after receive it. The listing seems to be lying less about the mAh.

The battery description of the above listing seems to be accurate. After cleaning was complete, the battery was depleted similar to the original when it was fresh.

Hi folks,

I just wanted to share my battery purchase experience for this degrading battery issue. I agree with your sentiments about the unsatisfying responses from Wyze support.

Based on the issue, why are we not told to just buy a replacement battery?? I am a fan of all Wyze products and will continue to support them, but come on, this is a frustrating issue with a very easy fix…why not make it easy for customers?

Thanks to all your posts, I explored and decided to purchase a battery on Amazon and it was delivered within a week. Install was 5 mins and it is working like a charm! No more need to split my rooms into small chunks and no more dead Wyze at about 50%,

I like that battery better because it is lithium polymer. The AliExpress battery is lithium ion and only a few dollars less.

The Amazon battery claims to be 4500mAh

The AliExpress battery is available in 3 ratings. 3400, 3200, and 2800. So comparing amp-hour ratings isn’t a fair test.

If I didn’t already have the AliExpress battery as a spare, I would get this.

Just ordered this battery. ETA 2/26. I agree with everything said about support. Purchased the vacuum June 2021 so out of warranty. After doing everything support told me to do, their only advice was to toss it. If this battery fix doesn’t correct the issue, I will be purchasing a different brand robot vacuum. I’ll keep the forum updated.

@rbgphd

If you decide to deep six the robot vacuum, I will gladly pay shipping and a bit extra for your time.

PM if interested.

Thank you, TomG, for sharing the link to the replacement battery and the location of the battery on the vacuum. I installed the new battery yesterday and the vacuum completed its scheduled cleaning without having to recharge for the first time in months.

I just had mine delivered. I’ll replace it after it’s done tomorrow, this way it will have a full 24 hour charge.

I am having similar issues, where I have replaced the batteries with new ones from AliExpress, linked in this thread, and both vaccuums are dying after 15 minutes of running, often in the middle of the floor. Does anyone have any tricks I need to do to get it to relearn battery capacity? Did I maybe just get a bad batch of batteries?

One of my AliExpress batteries died quickly. The one on amazon was only a few bucks more and performs perfectly.
