Plug network issue after power outage

I have a number of wyze plugs that dont recover after a power outage. Note the network can take about 6 minutes to restore after a power outage and by then it would appear that the plugs have gave up trying for the network. Power cycling the plugs after the network is up does resolve the issue but a few of these plugs are 1/2 a mile away and that is a pain. I now in the process of replacing distant plugs with tp-link/Kasa that do recover OK but you may want to fix it ver 3.6.1 firm 1.2.0.80

Welcome to the Forum, @sghelsby!

Since this is primarily a user-to-user support community, I’m not sure if/when anyone from Wyze might read your suggestion, but I think it’s a good one. My understanding is that Wyze Team members generally use the Wyze News and Beta categories where they post official announcements, though they occasionally respond to topics in other categories.

I didn’t see an existing Wishlist item for your suggestion, but remembering something like what happened a year ago with Plugs (where they needed to be unplugged and then plugged back in to recover the network connection) makes me think that this would be a good idea, perhaps in a firmware fix like you suggested. I imagine they could program it to reboot or attempt to re-initiate a network connection after a longer “offline” period or just tell it to try to reconnect over a longer interval before giving up (I don’t know what the current timeout might be).

FWIW, I also like the Tapo stuff and use P105s for some applications.

I went through the posts looks like this has been an issue since 2019. for me its no longer a problem as i now have 16 Kasa plugs to replace the Wyze and gained power monitoring too which is very useful. The 8 Wyze plugs I will reuse for low priority tasks.
