5 of my 6 Pancam v3’s have all stopped recognizing the sd cards. After hours and months going back and fourth with tech support I have come to realize its an app issue. After rolling back to multiple app versions, i settled on App version 3.2.6 (592). This worked for the better part of a year (giving me access to the sd cards) but unfortunately no more. I am wondering if anyone has this (or other) issues with the latest app version? Mind you I have doorbells, and other Wayz cams and only have the SD card issues with the pancam v3’s.
Numerous existing Forum topics discuss the issue of microSD recording/recognition/playback ceasing to work on some Cam Pan v3s, though I’ve never seen a complete, definitive, and reliable explanation for why this would be. If you’re still trying to use Wyze app v3.2.6.592 for Android with a Cam Pan v3 running firmware version 4.50.15.5336, then that’s not going to work very well. (Maybe that’s not what you’re doing; I didn’t see a firmware version mentioned in your post.
)
A new one was released just yesterday, so that complicates the picture. ![]()
I’m still stumped by this issue, too, and I’d like to see an official answer of what causes it along with a fix, particularly since one of my Cam Pan v3s has been afflicted but the other has not. It’s really vexing. ![]()
You may actually be mixing two issues.
Around a year or so ago, tapping to go to the SD card video from an event would result in a message saying there was no video. But going from the SD card screen worked fine. The card was recognized and recording was fine, it was a playback glitch. So I’m wondering if that was the previous issue you were seeing.
Then there is this mysterious issue where some Panv3s seem to stop recognizing SD cards altogether, which I’ve never seen on any of mine but does seem to be an issue as numerous others have seen it with no root cause seeming to have been found yet.
So maybe you’re now seeing #2 (#1 was eventually fixed at some point, can’t remember exactly when, maybe 6 or so months ago).
If you go into the SD card section of the cam does it say there is no card? Did all 5 start doing it around the same time? Another thing to consider is that if you put the SD cards in at the same time when new, and they’ve all been recording continuous, those cards may have just hit their lifespan and gone into read only mode. If they’re the same brand/model/size card, it actually would all happen around the same time.
