No video available at this time Pan Cam V3

Problems with my V3 Pan Cam
Did format the card, tried checking video recorded on the microSD. The “Events” play the video when I click on it, but when I click on the “PLAYBACK MicroSD Graphic icon, in the app. It also says " No video at the selected time”
Even though is shows an “event” with a image/video snapshot to reference this video/image captured.
there must be a bug in the most recent Wyze App update.

It’s been happening for a while and seems hit or miss with Cam Pan v3s. I currently have two, and only one is affected by this. I don’t know what the solution is, but I suspect remediation may have to involve some sort of back-end change, much as with a similar situation with (non-Pan) Cam v3s last year.

If you search or poke around in the Forum, you’ll see plenty of similar reports.

If you go to the camera live view, then the SD card icon there, can you play back video from the screen that comes up?

If so, when you try playing it from the events tab, try just waiting 3-5 seconds. Originally mine would not play at all, but now it gives that error then a couple seconds later plays the video.

I believe @crease and a couple others have a different issue where they can’t play SD card video at all from any screen, but I haven’t had that problem with mine.

Still just get the no video at this time.
They worked pretty good up until the last update.
Wyze just wants you to have online services, not just use and sd card.
Every update made it harder to just use the sd card , and now impossible .
I guess I will have to look into cameras the just use sd cards or a hard drive.
Too bad as they were good cams when they first came out, I’m sure there are alot of them
being thrown out and replaced with other brands.

This is by far the most commonly posted conspiracy theory here.

Plenty of us use SD cards exclusively with with no subscription and no issues.

Your symptoms sound like a failed card or sd card slot on the cam. I’d try taking out the card and formatting it with the formatter from sdcard.org and see if that helps.

I’ve been having this same problem with 1 of my 3 Pan V3 cameras. Swapped the SD card from the “broken” one to a “working” one with no change. The “broken” camera still gives me this error. The good camera that got the card from the broken one works just fine.

So the SD card isn’t the issue for me. I’ve resynced it, I’ve reset the camera, I’ve unplugged it entirely for awhile. I haven’t deleted it and re-added it yet, because that’s kind of a pain, and I really shouldn’t have to do that to fix an issue of not recording locally.

Anybody have any other suggestions, or am I just stuck deleting and re-adding it again and hoping that works, and if not, maybe opening a support case with Wyze for a defective camera?

I don’t have a good answer for you, if the SD card doesn’t show up at all (or shows up but you can’t watch video from the SD card screen), some here have reported that this seems to be a permanent issue. Whether it is hardware (SD card slot or controller chip has died) or firmware/software is still a mystery.

I think the only thing you can try at this point is remove the SD card, make sure the cam has the latest firmware, delete it from app, factory reset the cam, then re-add it using a slightly different name so it does not inherit any old settings.

Before reinstalling your sd card, format it using the formatter from sdcard.org just for good measure.

If that fails, if it is still in warranty, I’d contact support for a replacement.

Same problem here. Cam Pan v3. Intermittent. Restarting doesn’t help. SD works fine sometimes, then randomly just shuts off, though events are still detected and replayable.

Can you clarify, if events can be replayed, how is the SD card not detected?

Have you tried a different SD card in the camera, and/or formatting the SD card?

Was hoping to upload a screenshot I just took, but it’s not obvious (to me) how to do that here on my Android. The events show up on the timeline as islands that can be replayed, but clicking anywhere in the space between them causes “No video available at this time.” to show, and that space shows no green bar.

Go change your sd card settings from “event only” to “continuous”.

I really do appreciate the help. Thanks for your attention to this.

It’s in Continuous mode and has been the whole time. I did restart the camera in the last hour and that appears to have fixed it (for now)… I made NO changes to the Continuous/Event Only setting. This is definitely a random issue with these cameras.

The screenshot I took shows how the green bar was working and then it just stopped, while the events continued to be recorded… even though it was set for Continuous mode the whole time. Perhaps someone else can back this up with their own experiences.

I had the same experience, and that restarting seems to fix it, but for how long?

Excellent question, and here are the stellar results:

Recorded from 1:22 AM (after the restart) to 2:04 AM, then it stopped.

It’s 2:48 AM now and it hasn’t been recording since 2:04 AM.

First have you tried formatting the card (I prefer to remove it and use the formatter from sdcard.org) or better, trying a different/new one? I’m wondering if it is hitting bad spots and that’s confusing it.

You can try doing “reset services” on the cam - technically it shouldn’t do anything with the SD card but it does sync settings from the server, so it could theoretically do something.

Barring all of that, could factory reset the cam and re-add it.

There was a similar experience with the floodlight pros a few months back.

The floodlight wouldn’t turn on when there’s motion. Rebooting would fix, but at some point, it would stop again. This was fixed with a new firmware.

I have tried all the things that dave27 stated, but nothing worked
Either their is a hardware problem or something is the firmware for the V3’s.
Both of my V3,s are setting in the junk drawer the sd cards work fine in the other OG cams

Same experience here.

I can swap SD cards between cameras without reformatting any of them and they work fine in my fixed V2s, V3s, OG, and even an older V2 Pan. But every card fails to be recognized in the V3 Pan after a while.

Rebooting the V3 sometimes gets it working again, but only lasts for a couple hours to a couple days at most.

I’m convinced this is a firmware thing that started in recent update because I never had this issue with my V3 for the first year or so that I had it.

I’m having the same issue on one Cam Pan v3. The other one (bought before one with trouble) works fine. Very frustrating. I’ve tried most of the suggestions here and it might work for a few minutes…then goes back to “No video available at this time”.

Once in a while I have the same issue on some of my V3’s at a remote location. I have pin pointed the issue to a slow bandwidth.

I have been using Wyze cameras since 2022 and in my personal experience 90% of the issues I’ve had were network related.
