I have two Cam Pan V3 cameras both have microSD cards installed. Both no longer have playback available, When I go to see a playback, the screen says playback not available. What might be the cause and how is this corrected?
It’s a mystery, at least to me. Of my two Cam Pan v3s, one of these has been afflicted with this since mid-December, and I don’t yet have a resolution. Multiple Forum topics discuss this very issue.
What did Support say when you contacted them, and what troubleshooting have you attempted?
Welcome to the Forum, @spacemanspiff62!
It happened on both my V3 pans back in May, one I formatted the SD on a PC and reinstalled and it worked.
Oddly the other V3 pan SD started working on it’s own before I got to pull it and format.
Definitely makes the cams undependable for my needs, and having to constantly check these and other cams to make sure they’re working is essentially Wyze Cam Babysitting
Glad my Other brand of cams don’t suffer from these issues
I’ve tried that, and it worked for a while (I want to say it got up to ~7 GB of continuous recording on a 256 GB SanDisk High Endurance card) but then quit. I was even using the SD Association’s Memory Card Formatter on “Overwrite format” mode. It’s not a card problem, because that card functions as expected in a Cam v4. I don’t know what causes the issue. It’s really puzzling.
Yeah, and if you didn’t make any other changes to that camera, then that (and history with other Wyze Cam models having similar issues) really makes me think it’s something they’re doing on the back end that causes this, but that still seems like a weird source for this kind of problem, because I’d think microSD card stuff should all be local to the device, but the app is clearly very server-dependent for a lot of its features and functions.
There it is!
I have some non-Wyze cameras that give good performance, too.
Gotta keep Damage Control Dave happy
I sometimes get the dreaded “no video” message when looking at SD clips, at timeline points that should have video. This is a sign for me to format the card. I have no proof, but I think the card has cross-linked files at that point, presumably from losing power when there’s an active write operation.
Mine can’t lose power unless I try real hard,
All mine run off a long-term battery backup as does the communications and WiFi so they’ve NEVER seen a power loss…
But it could be Internet glitches due to the cellular connection I use for home Internet?
Is your Cam Pan V3 on firmware 4.50.14.3339? I think this firmware has the auto restart after 30 minute of no internet issue. Although the firmware is largely encrypted, there are certain files that are similar to Cam V3’s 4.36.13.0416 which also introduced the auto restart after 30 minute of no internet behaviour.
Do you see any footage on the following dates on your Wyze app? The actual time might be slightly different than listed below due to DST in my Eastern Time Zone. The Wyze app might think there’s recorded footage (green progress line on the timeline), but if you don’t see any footage then check ±1 hour.

Same issue here. But it will be us, not them
Yes, my pan V3s have this firmware. I don’t even check if there are clips recorded after a power loss, as I mainly use the SD clips to view events that weren’t recorded in the cloud. Yes, that happens.
Also, it’s very rare that I get the “no video” message. I’m pretty sure the last time it happened was with a V3. The timeline UI was the old type.
Wyze shouldn’t use the firmware date to record clips when the internet is down. Instead, it should use a fixed date in the past, to make it easier to find those clips.
