Order cancellation with wyze is a scam

Hi everyone, Don’t ever order directly through your wyze app as I did. It was tricky that draw you double order. And if it is happened, you had no luck to cancel your order even their policy said, within 2 hours window you can cancel but that is a lie. they ended up telling me just wait until receiving the orders then process the return. What kind of business model is that. Forcing customer to buy their product and not allow to cancel even it hasn’t been shipped. Wyze wasted customers time and makes customer feel like a scam

This has been addressed by them in the past. I remember at least one of the explanations for it, though there are likely others.

They have multiple fulfillment partners and part of the issue seems to be how overloaded they get (which is extremely overloaded during Black Friday), and sometimes the order and shipping info gets printed into physical paper form and added to a big stack quickly to fulfill and ship the order. Once that happens, it is suddenly impossible to sort through a huge stack of physical paper or labels to find the one person who canceled. Whoever gets that big stack of orders believes that every order is legit and needs to be filled and shipped. So if they digitally cancel your order, it may still get shipped out to you. And then some of the people who get an order shipped out to them after they canceled and got refunded will just keep the product. Furthermore, scammers learn this loophole pretty quickly and start to go around purposely making a bunch of orders and canceling them hoping that they can get free stuff without paying for any of it. The only safe way around this is that once the order has been issued for processing, it’s no longer possible to cancel it from shipping. A person who wants to cancel after that needs to return it and then they can get their refund.

Now, because a person can still get their refund, it’s not a scam. Especially since there is a legitimate reason (the local fulfillment partner apparently printed them earlier than normal, especially during this abnormally busy season so they can stay ahead on their abnormal volume of orders to get things done on time as everyone expects).

Yes it’s annoying. Really annoying. But not letting us cancel in some cases (especially at this time of the year) is not malicious or a conspiracy to screw people over. Sadly, it’s just partially a function of how the fulfillment process works plus having to account for scammers trying to steal stuff.

(At least that’s how I understand it… Things could’ve always changed over the years, but this same issue has come up at various times in the past)
