One tap wyze wall switch to control smart plug

This feature seems to have been removed, was wondering if anyone has found a workaround.

Basically i have a wyze wall switch that is set to Single Press > Smart Control, and i want to add a smart plug for that to control. The only option I see now is just other wyze wall switch.

This used to work, reached out to support and they dont know why its gone, and possibly to be fixed in future firmware/app updates.

I tried automatons but that doesnt work for me either, unless I’m doing it wrong.

The only workaround I can find is by doing the double or triple press. Thanks!

Single Click has always been “To control fixtures with Wyze Bulbs only”.

You have to use the “Additional Controls” area. There you can set Double-Click, Triple, and long-press.

Here’s a nice long thread from 3 years ago that I started where I was fighting with the Additional Controls. Wyze Switch - Dbl-Triple Tap functions work ... and then they don't?

This bug is still present in the switches. It doesn’t always happen but mess with those settings too much and they will stop working. If you get hung up just blank out all the settings in Additional Controls to make them empty. Back out of the switch, refresh your app, then go back in and set everything up the way you want. Editing what you’ve setup is where the bug comes in. If you change them too much (edit, go out, come back, edit, etc), then the Double-Click/Triple/Long action stops working. So you have to go through the blanking procedure I mentioned.

Not great. But, they work when left alone. We click the **** out of mine in my house.

Thanks. Yeah the double and triple tap works fine. But this is the setup that I wanted which used to work.

Ooh thank you! I tried searching but I didn’t see this. Yeah, at the time when i got the flood and plug, the plug was an option but the flood option was there so I just assumed it was never supported.

Support was pretty vague about the planned fix lol, so heres to hoping. Thanks for the link above!
