Yes, for V1, the ones people are having to roll back firmware to get them to reconnect, as I did.
Thatās what I thought. I have {2} original outdoor cameras and cannot get them to connect with the base unit since i allowed the first update an have never been able to get an answer of how to correct it. ![]()
Be sure they are not too far away from your router. I have that problem with one that connects only intermittently.

Another week has passed and nothing. How Wyze employees act as if this is how any normal company would act and a year with nothing from Wyze is acceptable is no longer surprising. It is the Wyze way. Promise anything, deliver as little as you can, and ignore things that make you look bad.

I think youāre talking about the Wyze Cam Outdoor V1ā¦this thread is mostly about the Wyze Cam Indoor v1, the original camera Wyze made that doesnāt connect to a base station.
If youāre having problems with the WCO and Base Station for some reason, it will be unrelated to the issues in this thread. Iād consider contacting Customer Support and see if they can walk you through getting it to connect:

I can feel your frustration, but No need to swear.
My experience with Wyze is that It could take Wyze Months to fix bugs. I guess they are putting resources on V3 pro instead of V1., V1 Pan etc They really want users to buy V3 or V3 PRO.
My suggestion is to keep sending in LoGs. and post in Fix it Friday thread. Hopefully, it annoy Wyze enough to release a working firmware for V1.

Months would have been ok, but that has already passed. Wyze will not even officially acknowledge the problem, although some employees have. And if you carefully read what is said, will never fix it because there is no recurring revenue (even the sprinkler control has a subscription option). The real reason for this thread now is just to warn any prospective buyers what they will be in store for. Fix it Friday is just a joke - what company runs a contest to decide which bugs to fix and then doesnāt fix them anyway.
Since it is the title of this thread - the official word from wyze is - oh right there hasnāt been one in over a year (long time for even wyze to ignore a problem)
The issue has definitely not been ignored as the cameras were made to run again, there are still issues that some have with them and we have to manage resources the best we can. There has not been anything new for me to bring here.
Why not come out with an automatic toilet flusher so there is another excuse to not fix problems because resources are allocated to the new product. The problem of not being able to remove a camera from cam lite has existed from day one of the cam plus money grab. The design was bad and the implementation worse. And the Wyze response to that problem is to create an even more costly monthly option pro and ignore, yes ignore, the lite problem.
It took months after users discovered a fix to āmake the cameras run againā. If by running you mean not being able to get alerts/notifications. Wyze has simply become a company that is either incapable or unwilling to fix anything if they believe they can get away without doing it. It is all and only about the bottom line now and screw the users who Wyze once called family.
I love the wyze empty responses, The v1 cameras were able to run again by reverting to a previous firmware by giving them a new firmware version number. How do I know this, because I found the older firmware on an alternative website(wyze took theirs down) and got the same response. Wyze deliberately put out a bricking firmware in hopes that people would scrap the cameras dismiss the issues and buy a newer model. ohh that didnāt go well. The cameras issues are strictly server sided, despite the official excuses.
I love seeing the emails that wyze sends out, tooting their own horn making them sound like a proud, supporting and caring company who cares about their customers. I/We can clearly see the BS behind this. ie⦠āGet ready for some big camera announcements in just a few weeks! And we will of course continue to support and update all Wyze products.ā

Wait just one moment, please⦠How is your experience different from what Wyze had said? Yes, there was a bug in a FW release, and reverting to prior version made the V1s work again. Then Wyze was able to produce a NEW FW version without the bug, which also worked with the V1. Why are you saying the bug was deliberate, and that the new version was just the old one renumbered? is the code identical?
Well Mister let me tell ya, wyze said that the camera is at the end of life, then they rolled out a firmware that bricked the cameras and thatās where damage control comes in. The function is identical, the old firmware and the new firmware respond the exact same, and both have the same server sided issue that doesnāt work⦠thx for asking tho

Download the .35 Firmware, copy to ExFat 32Gb card, go to rename with extension āBINā and it asks if I really want to do that, which I doā¦but just wonāt work.

I know this is basic, but to be absolutely succinct, download the file named FIRMWARE_660R_F_3.9.4.35.bin.zip
then copy to ExFat card, and rename
FIRMWARE_660R_F.BINā¦but as I say, it asks if I want to change the extension from zip to BIN which I do, and no result after trying to load to cameraā¦so frustratingā¦after doing it successfully a few months agoā¦thx for any advice.
