Notifications on shared device

so i have a bunch cameras around and inside the house and shared them with my family. now my question is…

is there a way for them to personalize the notifixation, motion alerts, monitoring etc to their liking?

example.
i have it to tell me whenever a car passes by infront the house but my girl doesnt want to get notified for that. i’ve looked at her phone and app and i dont see the options to change it on her end. are we locked in to what the owner (me) have set for everyone?

Not through the wyze app no. They can turn them on or off completely using their phone settings, but if they want to customize them beyond what the master account has set, the only option is to use a 3rd party notification manager app. And of course if the main account turns off notifications, that won’t help since those apps can only filter notifications, not create ones that don’t exist.

This has been discussed a number of times, if you search there are some good recommendations for this type of 3rd party app.

thanks…guess i got my answer.
i’ll just revoke their damn access lol

The notification manager apps are actually quite handy and powerful but I see you’ve tagged this iPhone so if they’re all using iOS, unfortunately I don’t believe there are any apps available for that, only Android.

Just tell them to disable notifications for the Wyze app. They can see the cams and do everything else (well, everything that shared accounts can do, which you’ll find is pretty limited, especially if you don’t have Cam Plus) they just won’t get notifications - better than no access at all.

we just deleted the garage cam on their phone. that was the culprit sending them a rediculous amount of notifications, albeit little flies, car flashing it lights, noise from fridge, all types of things triggering it. so it has solved the issue.

we would like for them to have notifications on the cameras as we feel it is defeating the purpose of turning them off..

maybe i’ll play around with the sensitivities of the camera in garage to have it not so active all the time.

can you tell me some of the android notification apps ? i have an android and would love to learn more

Yeah some tweaking is needed, especially if you don’t have cam plus/AI filters, to get things more reasonable. A combination of detection zone and sensitivity can make a big difference. Even just changing where the cam is mounted or aimed can help for certain things (leaves, shadows of trees, etc). Also if you’re using night mode (black and white IR) keep in mind that not only does it attract bugs but it reflects off every little spec of dust etc. Some have taken the step of mounting an IR light (readily available on amazon) away from the camera and disabling the ones in the camera to help prevent this. I haven’t seen that need for my use, but the camera I have that uses IR at night does not send me notifications. The rest of my cams have enough ambient light to never need IR.

I’ll link to a couple posts by @carverofchoice who put a lot of info together on them. I used to use one (emails from boss make a sound, others don’t, elderly family members texts make a much louder, more obvious sound, etc). These days I’ve mostly used built in features of Android to do the same stuff so am not using one, but filtering wyze notifications is a great use case.
