Notifications Not Stacking on Android 16

I updated my phone (Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra) to the Android 16/OneUI 8 Beta last week and noticed the Wyze notifications no longer group together and stack like they did when I was on Android 15. I am part of the Wyze Beta app group and confirmed my app is fully updated (version 3.5.1.666). This is especially annoying when I wake up and have 20+ notifications to clear in the morning, when I used to be able to clear them in one swipe.

Oh dear. I’m expecting to update to Android 16 this week, and I get hundreds of notifications per day.. I hope this gets fixed soon.

I wonder if it’s a conflict with Android 16 or specifically with the one UI version.

I was thinking it was a bug with the OneUI version, but all my other notifications properly stack except for Wyze, so I’m afraid it’s likely an issue with the Wyze app on Android 16.

There is a Notification Setting to group or not. Wonder if Android 16 sets that per app

“Google will release Android 16 on Tuesday, June 3, for all Pixel phones and tablets”

I’ve looked everywhere I can think of to find some sort of stack/grouping setting, but so far I’ve come up empty. It could be OneUI handles this differently than stock Android, but it’s interesting to me that only the Wyze app has the issue.

Below is an example of my Snapchat notifications stacking but my Wyze ones not. I’ll also submit feedback to Samsung beta on this issue in the event that it is a weird bug with OneUI 8.

I have a Galaxy phone, not Pixel. I’m currently running the Android 16 Beta for Samsung, as I mentioned in my post.

I see you are running the Beta. Many on this forum have a Pixel, so I was posting the Pixel release schedule so Pixel users can decide when they should update. Thanks for alerting us to the Notification issue.

I have all pixel phones and they’re all on the Beta for 16.
I had to go in the notifications for the app settings. Long press the notification and then the cog wheel.
Then notification manager and set it to minimize. Then the notifications will stack again.
Hope this helps.

That is good to know. Thanks for finding it. Hope it is the same on the Samsung.

@xlevijpcombsx , let us know if @eagle328 information works as I am sure others may run into this.

That’s a great recommendation from @eagle328. Unfortunately in Samsung’s infinite wisdom, they removed that option with OneUI, so as far as I’m aware, it’s enabled system-wide and not on an app by app basis.

I just got Android 16 on my Pixel 6 Pro today. I am still on App version 2.50 and everything is working well for me. I normally do not have Notification on but turned it on to test out. Not sure how they stacked before but here is a screenshot.

Happy to hear that! I do believe it’s a OneUI issue, at this point. A few days after I posted this here, I noticed my notifications would sometimes stack, sometimes not - no real rhyme or reason as to why it was intermittent. But in either case, glad to hear it’s not an issue with the app!
