My notification sounds randomly stop with no changes to my settings. I still get notifications, just no sound.
Honestly I gave up using the Wyze built in sounds like a year ago. I picked an android system sound instead, never any issues with sounds changing or not playing again.
Just go into the notification settings for the wyze app, pick whichever one shows a number, and pick a system sound for it. Doesn’t really matter what you have set in the app, just don’t change it in the app after that.
Thanks, I’ll give that a try

I second that as the best way to do it for Android. Unlimited options and works at the OS level.
Thanks for this response, it worked. This issue was bugging me and wyze support was no help. Even though it is a minor thing I knew there had to be an easy fix and you provided it.
So Android just pushed an update through and now my notification sounds changed again
Any suggestions?
Did you upgrade to Android 16? I believe there have been issues with notifications on many apps with that but not sure if Google has resolved it or not.
But check the settings for one of the notifications (long press it and tap the gear), maybe it is coming in via a different “wyzenotification” one and you just need to update the sound on that?
Two other things come to mind. For this first, I don’t know what the status is or if Google has resolved it:
The other thing you could try (if you haven’t already) is uninstalling/re-installing the Wyze app:
That has restored app-provided notification sounds for me in the past when an in-place app update has hosed things. Based on what I’ve read elsewhere, this seems to be an Android problem with other apps, as well, and not specific to Wyze.
On the Pixel 6 Pro I can say the update fixed it, but there are other models that supposedly still have the bug by posts on the bugtracker.
Is this an Android update, and, if so, then did that fix notifications for all affected apps as far as you’re aware? I appreciate the input, and I want to make sure I understand correctly.
Yes an “Android Update” fixed notifications on all affected apps.
However there are others posting that different models are still affected, just not my model.
Check the bugtracker for further details in posts from others…..
I think it’s just Pixel 7 and 10 but don’t quote me on that…
Thanks for the clarification. ![]()
Yes, it was the Android 16 update that changed the notification, but I think I got it fixed now.
