Notification time vs Actual off -16hr/ +8 hrs?

Starting approximately 2 hours ago, there is either a - 16hr or +8hr time difference between notification on phone and camera stamp… My GMT time is +8, so it’s not being recognized?

Example, notification timestamp says 1am , Actual camera and local time is 5pm

Anyone else seeing this?

Tried this 3x between last night and this morning and didn’t fix anything. I see others posting their’s started yesterday too.

App is on 2 device’s, do both have to change Time zone and change back?

Super annoying, This seems rather basic and it’s been going on for how long?

We are having the same issue on 5 devices (not cameras, we have 12 of those). How can this be a client issue? Started sometime yesterday for us as well.

Thanks for trying. I’ll make sure to pass this on, especially since I’ve seen a few others reporting the same thing now, so it’s definitely not an isolated incident.

I just realized I haven’t gotten any notifications all day (possibly started yesterday). Wonder if it is related.

Already did the typical uninstall and reinstall of the app and rebooted all the cams, etc. Events log, but nothing sent to the OS.

Same. I have four V3’s & am using a Samsung A35 & a Samsung A53 & all day today & at least part of yesterday one of my cameras are reporting off by 3 hours. As an example: I receive a notification from 2 of my camera’s pointing at the same general area of my yard, one is timestamped 7:41 PM & the other is timestamped 4:41 PM. Both are event recordings of the same motion event at the same time.

In addition, when I tap to “Improve our AI by sharing this video with Wyze” the options are no longer “person, pet, lighting change” etc., now the options are “1004, O, 1, da2f2d25aeb677563d8b47110025dda1, 0, Signature2 is invalid, 0, 1”.

Lastly, when I tap on the cluster of videos events on my notification screen, it no longer opens the Wyze app for me to view the event videos. Rather, when I tap on the event cluster, nothing happens.

I can confirm that it appears everyone (at least everyone with a certain app version) has this issue. I THINK our apps are all set to the same timezone somehow.

Just in case it helps, can anyone share what OS and App version you’re using that this is happening on (also please share your OS and app version if it’s NOT happening to you). If we find an obvious pattern, I’ll be happy to pass that on as well.

For all I know they already have it figured out and will push a fix any time, but it can’t hurt to try to help find a pattern just in case it helps.

I’m using Android version 3.2.5(591) when I am seeing this.

I tend to keep everything updated… my device in hand is android 14 and app v3.2.5. I’m not about to go check everything else though.

I did a time sync on all of my cameras just for fun, although nothing was more than a few seconds off. I force closed the wyze app. I rebooted my phone a few days ago and I’d rather not unless forced. Anyway, these things did not help, and changing my time or time zone is just a bandaid if it does work. I’ve been in IT long enough to know this is not on our end.

Thanks. I’m curious to see if anyone on iOS or using 3.2.6 also has this problem.

I am guessing it is just a setting in their backend that someone accidentally changed to a static timezone for everyone instead of our individual timezone settings.

I just updated to 3.2.6. No change the app and firmware update to date. I am using OS.

Thanks. That makes me lean even more to believing that someone just accidentally changed a setting that has it check our phone timezone. I think it’s currently set to have us all on the Wyze HQ timezone time. The good news is that I think this means they should be able to fix it without pushing an app update.

Thanks for the follow-up! That’s good to hear!

Android v3.2.5 (591) updated 3 days ago
Wife is same updated yesterday.

UPDATE: Appears to be corrected in past hour or so. Notification time is correct and matches event’s.

I confirm, it’s fixed for me now too.

Must have been a fairly easy back-end update.

Thanks for reporting this and confirming that the normal “fix” wasn’t addressing it. And thanks to everyone else who chimed in to confirm the issue.

Sadly the other issue of no notifications at all seems to still not be resolved. Hopefully the rep I talked to that said it was a known issue wasn’t referring to this time zone one and they’re actually aware of the other one.

I think that one is known too.

Before I try to do more with that one though, I’d like to see what happens with the new Android app update they just pushed out. If it’s still not working after that is released from Google’s hold, remind me then.

My last app update was a couple days ago and notifications stopped sometime in the last ~24 hours, so I don’t think it is app related. It also isn’t working on my old phone with the 2.5 app which leads me to believe it is back end stuff. But we’ll see.

Is it ALL notifications, or just specific devices? I am curious why it stopped for you but I am still getting notifications. I ask that because I wonder if it is mostly for specific camera models and since I’m getting notifications from other ones I’m just not noticing the missing ones.

Normally I would ask someone about their camera settings and snooze settings, etc, but you aren’t the only one reporting this and you have obviously proven yourself quite capable for a long time. I’m just trying to figure out what the difference might be so I can give more info than a random “some people aren’t getting notifications but some are.”
