Looks like I’ll have to opt out of the Wyze App Beta, because I’m not getting notifications. We’ll see if it starts working with the public release Wyze App, but I am not hopeful seeing that this issue has been reported on forums for at least a year.
I just installed my Wyze Doorbell.
Android 13 on Samsung S21 One UI 5
Firmware 4.25.1.314 - latest version
vOIP is off
I’ve done all of the standard troubleshooting. Still no notification with button push.
Some notifications with up close motion, but I’m not convinced I’m getting a notifications for each motion event recorded.
I used to beta test hardware and software for all sorts of companies, including HP and Microsoft. I was looking forward to getting back into that with Wyze, but I need the doorbell to notify me more than I need to be in the Wyze Beta program.
Yes I tried that option too. Opt-out beta doesn’t solve the problem. I figured out also I am not getting the low battery notification too. The wyze should be shown on the calling accounts of the phone settings. It was there and disappeared. I tried on my tablet and my old phone it works just in my pixel 6 pro have they issue.
New update. My tablet stopped getting VoIP notifications since Feb. 27th. I think after the latest beta. My phone not getting since December. I think they messed up something again
Thanks for the notice. An update is reflecting in the Play store for the wyze app. I am not updating till it is assured that VoIP feature will not be interrupted. Truly, VoIP is the only feature which is keeping me from going nuts.
My device is OnePlus Nord 2T
Android version: 12
Firmware: 4.25.1.314
In full disclosure, after your message, I realised that I wasn’t getting movement detection notifications anymore. Though that is not the primary discussion here but something affected me too. VoIP call is working fine.
Looks like it is a known issue that Video Doorbell VoIP stopped working on some (but not all) Android devices. Wyze is aware and working on a resolution.
This is an Android Issue and not really a Wyze issue, as far as know. I have experienced the no VoIP on my Pixel phones and not experiencing the same issue on my Samsung Flip. My Samsung stopped working soon after the security updates. Wyze is indeed working on a solution.
It seems to still be working on iOS and earlier Android OS Versions.
Could I get a notification when this issue is resolved by chance? I’m getting the same issue on my new samsung phone, but it still works on my old samsung.
Absolutely. Once the issue is resolved and I find out. I will post it here for you. I am in the same boat you are with this.
For now, I turned off VoIP so that I still get a notification, on the phone, when the doorbell is pressed.
EDIT
@DJY , just wanted to let you know that there has been no update as of yet. Wyze is working with Google to determine a viable resolution as it appears to be Android OS Related.
If I hear anything, I will keep you posted. Just did not want you to think I forgot.
