Notification not working when doorbell pressed

Thanks for the clarification, we’ll still get this pushed through then since the notification isn’t or wasn’t working for you even without VOIP. Just needed to make sure that wasn’t the reason. :+1:

I’m using Doorbell Pro on v 1.0.68 and app v2.38.0.153
VOIP is always turned off

No notifications on my android phone when the doorbell is pressed, however iPhone that it is shared on gets a notification

Same issue here, bought mine a week ago and arrived 3 days ago, talked to support and tried everything in a huge list:

  • check if the app is updated
  • check if the firmware is updated
  • disable/enable in multiple ways the notifications
  • Power-cycle the doorbell and chime
  • Factory reset the doorbell

Nothing worked, I know the button works because the chime sounds when is pressed, support told me that even I bought it a week ago and seems to be not working correctly, the warranty expired

I hope this can be fixed soon, is really annoying that everything is working: battery, camera, sounds, button, notifications from cam plus and everything else, but not the button notification.

I have shared the doorbell with my wife an no one of us are receiving the notifications.

Also I need to mention that it was working at the first hours of use.

The only thing I’ll try is to empty the battery and do another factory reset to see if that works, but I need to way a lot of days because is in 90% and is draining sloowly

EDIT: I’m using the doorbell pro without VoIP and not wired
EDIT2: Also I have this 3 log ids that I got from various tests before factory reset: 863057, 863102, 863238

I have the same issue. I get no notification when someone rings the wyze doorbell…

Same issue here. Been waiting for 3 weeks for a fix.

I have the same issue for 2 weeks. I tried everything. No notification with or without VoIP. I also had a rule when door Bell pressed my light strip was blinking. This does not work either.on my wife’s iOS she still gets the VoIP calls. I think this issue with android only.

I just added a doorbell that I got for Christmas. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why button press events are not notifying, but motion detection is working. Glad I found this so add me to the list of people with the same problem.

I even re-installed the app, plus reset the doorbell.

I am not sure if my solution turned out to be an exact but after hrs of searching and applying, the basic actions worked.

I reset the bell and the app cache (I do not think it is needed but I did it anyway)
Turned off any rules for the moment
Turned off Motion detection notifications (only notifications, motion detection recording is still on)
In my account settings, turned on VoIP settings (means I will get a call instead of a notification if the bell rings)
Made sure Wyze is selected to run in background in every scenario (in the accounts settings)
Under phone settings, I deselected the option for the app to be optimised under any scenario.

Everything is working fine as it should.

Did you leave the VOIP enabled after these procedures?

When the VOIP is enabled, no push notification is sent. The phone call replaces the notification. The feature being lost is the push notification when VOIP is off.

What happens if you disable the VOIP?

Good question. The answer is not 100%

Personally I do not need the notification but a call when someone press the doorbell. So VoIP settings are on in my case.

Anyways, I turned off VoIP call feature. This time when I went to the door, I got a notification on the phone. But when I pressed the doorbell, the app showed no notification. Ofcourse if I go in events, there is a mention of the doorbell being pressed.

So motion notification: yes
Doorbell pressed notification: no

Great, so you’ve confirmed something that was already written above a while back, and offers no solution… :face_with_peeking_eye:

Thank you! That is confirmation of the problem being experienced. No push notification on doorbell press. And you have also confirmed for us that many of the usual troubleshooting solution methods for correcting it aren’t working.

Can you please post your:

  • Firmware version
  • App Version
  • OS Version
  • Phone model?

Efforts are being made to try and pin it down to the specific Android build that is causing this.

I’ll put mine just to give more information for this error
Firmware version for doorbell pro: 10.0.68
App Version: 2.38.0.153
OS Version: Android 12
Phone model: moto g200 5G

There are many app and device logs that have been submitted. But, we need a Customer Support Ticket Number to link this in to be escalated thru channels.

Has anyone contacted Customer Support and received a Ticket Number?

I had this issue before I mentioned. Today I installed on my Samsung tablet and I got the VoIP call but not on the phone. They both have android 13. I couldn’t figure out what is wrong with the phone. I have Google pixel 6 pro and Samsung tab s6 lite. Firmware version for doorbell pro: 10.0.68
App Version: 2.38.0.153

Pixel 6 pro - not working
Pixel 2 xl - working (logged in same account)
iPhone 13 - working (shared device with this account)

I know it was said it’s device-specific, so just confirming that and sharing what devices are working and not working. If more details will help, just let me know and I’ll share

I am using beta preview for pixel6 pro. Maybe that is the reason…

I wasn’t and it wasn’t working…decided to join the beta for 13 qr whatever…but still not working

Good idea. Here is what I gathered when trying to replicate this issue on different devices I have access to:

Pixel 5 (my PRIMARY device) - Doorbell button Notification NOT working
iPhone 13 - Doorbell button Notification WORKS
SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 - Doorbell button Notification WORKS
SAMSUNG GALAXY S9 - Doorbell button Notification WORKS

So it looks like this issue is targeting Google Pixels devices?
