New Wyzecam pan V4 streaming not working in Google Home or Google Nest Hub

Hello Wyze ,

I just purchased the latest Pan Cam v4 and was super excited to replace my Pan cam v3 but noticed two different issues. 1) The new V4 does not support working as a door bell chime same as what v3 can do. When i looked into the options its simply not there. 2) Video Stream wont load on my Google Home Hub. I have 7 other cameras and all seem to be working fine. ( 3 Battery Cam Pro, Wyze Cam v4 and one pan cam v3 which all are accessible via google Home. But this new Pan cam v4 does not seem to load and gives me an error . “ Live video Stream Unavailable “ Hope this gets fixed with a software update. Please?

What doorbell and Wyze app version are you using? Selecting a compatible camera to be used as a doorbell chime is a function of the doorbell, not the camera. Although I don’t currently have it connected (so I haven’t personally tested this), if I navigate from my Video Doorbell v2’s Live Stream screen to  Settings âžś Chime âžś Cameras as Chime âžś , then I see Cam Pan v4 on the Select cameras screen. That indicates to me that Cam Pan v4 has that feature built into the firmware and can be used as a chime if it’s selected. You just have to go to the right place in the app to configure it.

Your Google Home issue may be a consequence of your iOS use, as noted in several Forum topics, including this one:

The most recent post there (at the time of this writing) suggests that re-linking with an Android device resolved part of the issue, though iOS users have apparently been unable to stream Wyze Cams within the Google Home app for a long time. I don’t know if trying it with an Android device (if you even have that available) would improve your experience or not, and I don’t know which Hub you have, but a few minutes ago I was able to stream Cam Pan v4 on a Google Home Hub (1st Gen) after adding the camera to the home within the app. My attempts to view that Cam on a Google TV and within the Google Home Android app have failed so far, so I think there’s definitely some work to be done on this integration.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I have the Duo Cam Doorbell. I have a v3 pan working as a chime already. Perhaps it only allows you to add one camera as a doorbell chime? I will continue to play around and see if i can get it working.

As for the streaming. I dont mean from Google Home app. I know this has never worked. I meant if i ask my nest hub to show me the driveway it will take about 10 to 15 seconds to load and it will show the stream. This works for 7 of my cameras. But for this new one Pan V4 its does not work.

You’re welcome. I don’t have Duo Cam Doorbell, so I can’t speak directly to that device’s features, but I would expect it to allow multiple cameras to be used as chimes. When I navigate to that section of the settings for my Video Doorbell v2, it shows that I currently have 5 cameras selected for use with the Cameras as Chime feature: a Cam Pan v3 and some Cam OGs. When I hit the in the upper-right corner of that screen, I can see other cameras available for selection (my Cam OG Telephoto, another Cam Pan v3, Cam Pan v4). I don’t know what the upper limit is, but I think it should be more than one.

I didn’t think you did when I read your initial post, but I wanted to be clear in my response, because a lot of iOS users have specifically mentioned that for a long time. I don’t know if trying to link your Wyze account to Google Home with an Android device would be helpful (as another user in the topic I linked above suggested) or not, but that could be something to try if you have that available.

So far I’ve only tried using the touch controls on my Home Hub (tapping “Home control” on the screen and then navigating with swipes and taps to select Cam Pan v4), and I’ve been able to stream the feed that way; I haven’t yet tried asking Google Assistant to display it, so I don’t know if that makes a difference. I’m not sure if Hub generation is significant, either, or which you have. The device I’m able to stream Cam Pan v4 on is a Google Home Hub (1st Gen).

Like I said, I also haven’t been able to get that camera to stream to a Google TV as my other Wyze Cams do. I have a Chromecast that I could try but haven’t gotten around to that yet.

So many variables! It’s a new product, so hopefully Wyze (and/or Google) will get it sorted in due time.

2025-08-31T18:38:18Z Edit: I just tried talking to Google Assistant, and it streamed Cam Pan v4 on a Google Home Hub (1st Gen), so that’s working for me. Again, I don’t know which particular Hub you’re using or if that’s even a factor.

Same issue here, got my Wyze Cam Pan v4 yesterday. It works well with the Wyze app and the stream can be viewed on my Google Nest Hub Max and Google Nest Hub, but displays “Live View unavailable” on the Google Home app using my Samsung S24 Android phone.

I don’t think that’s unusual for Wyze Cams in the Google Home app, which is why I generally recommend that people use the native Wyze app for the most consistent viewing experience. My experience viewing live streams within the Google Home app has always been inconsistent and has changed over time (some cameras sometimes stream at some point and then later…maybe not so much). Other non-Wyze cameras that I use don’t stream in the Google Home app at all but will stream on a connected device (smart display like a Google Home Hub, Google TV, or Chromecast).

Incidentally, I got around to trying to stream Cam Pan v4 on Chromecast, and that failed just like the Google TV did (which is what I expected after seeing what happened with Google TV). It appears to be trying to establish a connection for a stream but then eventually times out with a failure message. I guess that’s 1 for 4 for me so far:

Welcome to the Forum, @jchin.tt!

This is what I initially stated. I do have other cameras that do work on chrome cast or google hub. Why would the v4 not work out of the gate? The pan cam v3 works currently as well as the regular v4 cams. Coincidentally the v3 pro also does not work for some reason. This is why I upgraded 2 of my cameras to v4. I also have several cam battery pros that are working with chromcast just fine. Makes no sense to not have their latest camera not have the same features. Go figure

If I had an answer, then I’d share it. This is one of several features that I think users reasonably expect to work with the new Cam Pan v4 as they have with previous Cam versions. Timelapse and Lamp Socket v2 compatibility also seem to be missing, and these are all things I imagine could be included in future app/firmware/back-end updates.

Same

I have 2 V3 Pros which I just checked on Google TV.
One is streaming on Google TV. The other one says live video unavailable …
I then went to the 2 cams to try reset & restart.

Strange that the one that will not stream on Google TV only has a restart option.
The other V3 Pro has a reset option and a restart option.
They are both running on plugin 3.2 and both on same beta firmware 4.58.14.4178
I restarted them both. Only the same one is streaming.

fyi. I asked Google AI :slightly_smiling_face:

Perhaps try setting the cam to lower resolution and see if it will stream. If it does, then you at least know where the issue is pointed (Google)..

I appreciate the input, but I’m skeptical that this is the solution. Within the Wyze app, on Cam Pan v4’s Live Stream screen, I already set the resolution to “360p” because I don’t need to see “4K” all the time, and setting Live Stream to a lower resolution sometimes makes manual control (pan/tilt) more responsive. Despite that, the Live Stream always seems to reset to “Auto” when I leave that screen and return anyway.

I don’t think any of these settings have any actual bearing on streaming to other devices, anyway. My perception has always been that they affect only the feed displayed on a given camera’s main Live Stream screen, though I haven’t actually done any testing (trying to monitor network throughput from a single camera under different conditions and with different settings).
