New Product Launch - 8/12/2025

I think that’s a fair point about the microphone and memory card, though one thing I’d mention about the latter is that (I think) Duo Cam Pan and Cam v4 are the only Wyze Cams that “officially” support microSD cards up to 512 GB so far.[1] If you’re talking about pairing an existing static and panning camera, then your panning camera is likely to be Cam Pan v3, which means that with Duo Cam Pan you’d get two spotlights in the package (versus none from Cam Pan v3) and higher resolution on the newer panning camera all while using a single power adapter for both cameras with less current draw than what Cam Pan v3 currently uses. Plus it’s already stacked and you don’t have to DIY that.

I’m not saying that Duo Cam Pan is a better solution than others, just providing some counterpoint and potential benefits that might make it more flexible or applicable to some use cases.

  1. That used to be the messaging, anyway. Looking at some Help Center articles and the Cam v4 product page just now, it appears that Wyze has changed a number of sources to now show a maximum of 256 GB for that Cam, and some of those changes have been fairly recent. I don’t know why this change has been made, but it’s still possible to find references to 512 GB card support for Cam v4. ↩︎

My first thought when the duo pan was announced was it would be a nice fit when you need a 180° coverage, like when mounted on a long wall. I have a floodlight pro doing that now, but its fisheye lens is distracting. But I saw a prototype pan V4 with a telephoto lens that some may like better; coming out in a month or so.

PSA: Anyone with questions they’d like the Product Manager or Founders to answer about either the Duo Cam Pan or Pan V4, you can post them in the Reddit AMA thread now for people to vote on, and they will start answering the highest voted questions on Thursday (8/28/25).

For those who don’t use Reddit, you can always post your questions here and someone like me will usually go relay those questions for you. :+1:

The release of the Pan Cam V4 with a built in floodlight now makes using stacked Cam V4 camera with the new Pan Cam V4 camera better than the Duo Cam to do what the Duo Cam does.

That could be true for some applications. Maybe someone needs to come up with a 3D-printed bracket that easily and securely attaches to a Cam v4 and allows the Cam Pan v4 to be attached to that via its included mounting kit base screw. That could be pretty slick.

If Wyze provided the bracket they would be able to get rid of the Duo Cam.

I like this camera may be I will buy. I dont get why OG model was released. I wasted money on 3 of them. Useless. People who came with that idea should be punished imo.

that’s interesting because the specs on the actual plugs say 2A, which is plenty.

Now I have to APOLOGIZE to everyone for I realized why one of my two cameras kept failing. It’s on a extension cord with two other and when I re-ran the cables I ended up plugging the pan 4 into a 1 amp power supply which was therefore a standard V4, not the pan cam. so it was not connected to the proper 2A power supply. So all the troubleshooting conclusions were accurate, unfortunately it’s because it was plugged into a lower powered supply.

MY MISTAKE, my screw up! I APOLOGIZE for causing anyone to run around in circles… lesson learned though, make sure you use the 2A power supply that came with any pan camera, because the motor does require more power, and on a 1A supply it will dip the voltage while the motor is running and cause your camera to disconnect almost every time.

with 8 WYZE cameras wired up to my house +2 from another vendor, my cables got mixed up. :face_with_steam_from_nose:

Are those power adapters for Cam Pan v4 or for Duo Cam Pan (the subject of this topic)? I don’t have a Duo Cam Pan, but I can confirm that Cam Pan v4 ships with 2A adapters:

Model Power Adapter
Duo Cam Pan 5V ⎓ 1.5A
Cam Pan v4 5V ⎓ 2A

I ask because your other recent posts have been in Cam Pan v4 topics, so I wonder if this is causing additional confusion.

We all do that. I don’t think an apology is necessary, but I’m glad that you found the source of your problem and took the time to share it with the community! That’s definitely a good reminder for all of us to pay attention to the specifications and the equipment when we’re mixing, matching, and moving these things around. :+1:
