My wyze pan cam v3 keeps disconnecting!

Yeah I’ll try that tomorrow I drive semi truck and I’m not going to be home till late tonight I got a new cable coming in tomorrow too so I can kill two birds with one stone…

I’ve seen other people has had issues with the version 3 Pan Cam and since I’m gone for 5 days a week from my house is vitally important my camera stay working

Good luck. My camera stopped working after the update. None of the troubleshooting helped. I came to the forums looking for help since support was a big joke. Looks like I’m stuck with a useless camera.

I have three wyze cam pan v3’s and they’re constantly disconnecting, and I have three Cam v3s that are same distance and all and rarely have issues. These are my third or fourth round of Pan V3 replacements… what’s going on.

Exactly I have version one and two of Pan Cam two version two of Cam and one version 3 of cam in operation right now and they all work flawless. Sound like a lot of people are having problems with V3 pan cams maybe if we scream loud enough wise will do something about it

Mine lost connection few days now. Rebooting didn’t help. As of now the red light won’t even turn on at reboot. Trash

Count me in the panv3 hell hole.

I temporarily “solved” the issue by plugging the cameras into a Wyze Outdoor Plug and then set a schedule to power cycle the outlet every 6-8 hours. Camera’s now stay “up” except for the k=minute or 2 to power off and on several times a day.

COME ON WYZE - FIX THIS!

I’ve got you all beat. Through the years my Pan V1, V2, & V3 have all had stuttering time stamps, along with the annoying video that comes with it. It’s highly intermittent. I’ve gone through 3 routers, tons of positioning, and currently have a hardwired Eero Pro6 just 3 inches from the V3. I can still only get a reliably stable pix in SD or 360p. I saw a post, I believe on this forum, where someone had determined there was a cold solder joint where the microstrip antenna is attached to the PC board. Now, for all three models to have that same issue - that’s just RF “Real Freaky” ! I have 6 other various Wyze Cams, and have never had any issues with them.
At any rate, I found a good tear-down video, and rather than just looking for & repairing a cold solder joint, if it does exist, I plan to install the cutest little rubber duck antenna you’ve ever seen. Will post my results ASAP.

I want to join the ME TOO movement. Totally fed up climbing a ladder to reset Pan Cam V3. Installed smart plug to shut off at 12am and on again at 12.10 am. Still suffering disconnects and failed to load to cloud and error this and error that regularly. After much discussion with Wyze, they offered me a gift. Why would I want anymore crap? Can someone recommend another supplier of a better system?

Ill be honest I have the V3 Pan, V2 Pan and V3 Cam couple V1 cams, Outdoor cam, 4 smart bulbs 2 of the Deadbolt locks (the original and the fingerprint) the scale, the Robot Vacuum and the heater thermostat control. Did have the doorbell but after demoing a Ring I went that direction. EVERYTHING else works absolutely perfect. ZERO issues with anything. And I’ve had some of those for 4-5 years.

The V3 Cam is the only thing being problematic and to be honest I didnt have an issue for the first 3-4 months of owning it then suddenly last month started disconnecting.

WYZE is a good brand I just wish they would nip the V3 Cam issue in the butt before it begins to ruin thier reputation. Of course, this is my personal experience and Im sure for every one of my experiences there is probably a direct counter lol

There is 100% an issue with the Pan V3. I get it’s your job as a support agent, but the standard “have you cleared the cache/is it plugged in” stuff is not the answer to this.

The first thing that needs to be done is for you to have your software engineers look into the current firmware, specifically where it is meant to attempt to reconnect to the network after a disconnect, and determine why it is not happening. The disconnects would not be as MASSIVE an issue if the camera was able to reconnect after a few minutes; as it stands now, once it disconnects it won’t connect to the network again, even with 100% signal strength, and even if you wait days. Power cycling immediately fixes it, so the issue is 100% that it’s not attempting to reconnect to wifi.

I’ve been battling this for 5 days straight. Here is a LIST of ALL that I have done with not a single solution to fix this issue…

Netgear RAX120 with EAX20 Extender. All Equipment working flawlessly with amazing download and upload speeds on 1GB Fiber. Network is flawless at this point.
Added (2) pan v3 cameras to network, Updated both to latest firmware.
Outdoor Camera (Connected to extender on guest network for IoT Isolation) Fails often.
Main Camera (Connected to router on guest network) Works Perfectly.
Checked Wifi interference with neighbors. Selected new channels (Started at 1, then 3 , since they were least congested, Dropped 2.4ghz to 20MHZ. Enabled local network access on guest wifi / IoT Network)
Disabled 5ghz guest network on extender and router.
Speed test setup, success.
Reconnected outside Camera to guest extender separate network.

Worked for a day, Then No Dice.

Factory Reset Router and Extender, both are mesh network capable.
Factory Reset Camera.
Setup Individual guest networks on Router and Extender for my IoT devices.
Moved back to 2.4 on 40MHz.
Camera Fails at random times, will not reconnect to guest network on its own.
Power cycle camera works as temporary solution. Using smart plug to set restart schedule.
Blink camera’s within 1 ft of wyze camera for trouble shooting, gets crystal clear and low latency video anywhere.
Wyze Camera on Extended Network, fails.
Wyze Pan v3 close to main router on guest network works perfectly.

Purchased new router and Extender, Did all the above again on day 3. FAIL on Extender Camera.
Factory Reset both router and extender, Updated firmware manually to both.
Factory Reset Camera’s.
Reconnected all 50+ IoT devices after main and guest network setups.
Outdoor Camera (Connected to extender on guest network for IoT Isolation) Fails often.
Main Camera (Connected to router on guest network) Works Perfectly.
Speed test 2" from camera location. Full speed, barely any jitter, 12ms latency.
Removed all IoT devces from extender network to isolate camera. Still disconnects.
Turned on Upload QoS, no help. Turned back off.

Start over with extender, Router Verified running above internet service speeds. All devices functioning except camera. Even on an extender BY ITSELF, It still craps out randomly.

Returned Wyze camera, purchased new one, added to network… SAME ISSUE!!! Disconnects…

Swapped power brick for bigger one, swapped power cord. Runs a little better with a bigger brick. Failed after a long period of time, maybe 12-14 hours. Best results yet. (Seems like they should be giving this device more power, its snappier. Could just be me out of hoping it works.

Wiped The Entire setup on day 5 and started over again. Still the same damn thing…

Manually set IP addresses for ALL IoT devices. Performance of network and IoT devices improved greatly! Outdoor Wyze Camera connected to extender network functioned for a day then crapped out again.

After 5 days and $400+ dollars in new equipment (Because I Love solving problems and don’t know how to give up on problems) I am STILL at square one.

Wyze FIX THESE CAMERA’S!!!

Really good testing Treash! Have you opened an official ticket? I just did via email.

I have not responded yet, but I believe I already know the issue. For some reason on extended networks, when connecting the camera, router, firmware, detect the camera on the extended network as a DDOS attack and shuts off the link to the camera through Wi-Fi. After reconnecting the camera through a power cycle, the router can no longer see the camera, detailed information, only sees an IP address as an unknown device. Once I take the exact same camera and put it on my main network without the extender, so the routers main guest network it functions correctly the entire time. For some reason, the firewall is reading this as a malicious device that is trying to connect to the Internet through my extender. my router cannot read the device information properly in order to let the Internet traffic pass through and instead constantly fights me trying to disable an unknown device connected connected to my network, requesting information. Turning off access to local network for guest device, does nothing besides make the camera fail more often. As it keeps the camera isolated and the router further has no idea what device it is. This all sounds like it is an issue, with the device fighting the router firewall. I assume this is something that’s going to have to be fixed on your end with a firmware update.

Thanks

Also, to expand on my previous email, I think the device name that you guys send out with the devices that includes the MAC address, is causing issues as the router sees the MAC address, and then sees the Mac address again as the name of the device, which is not normal, and could be considered signs of an attack, or a device trying to mask itself to be another device. I am unsure how to change the device name from the current name with the Makris included to a simple name. Please let me know if there’s a way to change this and I will test.

If the mods can remove personal information from replies, maybe they can take two seconds to let us know if this is being dealt with or if we should abandon this ecosystem.

Seven days later, nothing. Seriously? Can we at least get a, “we’re looking into it?”

Some of us use these cameras for important things like home security or looking after people that are easily injured. This is a big deal.

I wholeheartedly agree…I get it things break and I would much rather see a response like : Hey everyone seems some of you having issues and we are aware, were trying to find out what’s causing these problems with some cams, please be patient…instead of complete silence after the initial index card readings
