Mandatory Two-Factor

Until you forget your PMs PW!!

With Bitwarden, I export all passwords to a comma delimited file (csv) and put it on a thumbdrive. I include my PM pw and I put in in a safety deposit box.

I really should save a paper copy in case of CME or EMP.

Yep, paper copy with the password for the password manager in the safe deposit box.

2FA that Password Manager too. Give 1 other person in the world the password besides you. Or bury under an old tree in your yard. Write down your recovery seed for your 2FA as well.

I give old people (I’m 49) password books. That at least gives them a format they understand (little black book).

I’ve been considering setting up a self hosted instance of Bitwarden soon when I get docker loaded in my new mini PC I got for homelab use. It’s nice to hear you like it.

As far as emp goes, you could put the flash drive in a box surrounded with aluminum foil and sealed with conductive tape. =POOF! Now you have a faraday cage!

I thought about that but I need a Faraday cage as big as a garage for my car, computer, generator and router. Hopefully my path to the Internet would still be there.

I like Bitwarden with the reports they offer to check for integrity of passwords and email accounts. I also love their password generator.

My friend forgot his password, but since even Bitwarden does not have password access, he lost everything and had to rebuild. He only stored one password. They do encrypt.

I found that it works on Windows, Linux, Android and Ios.

My brain has no micro-electronics, yet. Hopefully Elon has thought of that with Neuralink.

It could happen. Ever hear of the Carrington Event?

Hey WYZE, still waiting for an official answer to this question.

Krystle is ā€œsweet, loyal, and lovingā€, the ā€œgood girlā€ in contrast to Blake’s first wife, the villainous Alexis (Joan Collins).[6]

Haha. I was talking about the original ā€œCarrington Eventā€ in 1859. The original was much more shocking.

I’m just curious if using an Authenticator app will still work? I currently have 2FA enabled, per Wyze some time ago, via an Authenticator app. So, really seems ridiculous that I’m receiving emails from Wyze that I don’t have 2FA enabled. I had to use it to login to the forum here s I could post.

As has been answered by WyzeJason in another thread, if you already have 2FA set up, it will not change.

I’m glad someone else’s brain went here after @ssummerlin’s question. I was wondering if I was the only one.

Pop culture was saturated with the prime time soaps in the 80s, I think. I’ve never seen a single episode but I somehow ā€˜remembered’ the family name and the name of the show. Scary.

Same.

Both @peepeep @Crease remind me of the show ā€œDream onā€ where a baby grows up in front of a TV. Funny. Imagination is good thing to have.

I actually have seen some of that show. (It’s one I would consider watching in its entirety if I could.) I think Brian Benben has a fun name to say.

Maybe that’s what gets this topic…back on topic? ā€œYou want me to use multi-factor authentication, huh? Well dream on!ā€ (I’ve actually been using it for quite a while without any real difficulty or apparent adverse issues.)

In America, not every hero’s journey is heroic.

If you watch Mon Oncle D’Amerique I’ll watch Dream On (if I can find it.)

ā€˜My Uncle from America’ hit hard in 1980. Not sure how it’d play now on first viewing.
