Loud Machine Like Noise Coming from Speaker

@fmills1d

I asked about the app because the engineers wanted me to ask if it was also affecting the app. We have not been able to replicate this yet and are trying to gather information. We are not ignoring or delaying we are actively trying to figure out the cause.

Can anyone having the issue please send in some logs and let me know the log numbers so I can get them to the engineers?

One thing I’ve noticed is when using the Alexa app on my iPhone 16 is the live view on the camera won’t come up. It says , live view unavailable right now but when I tried it on my ipad using the Alexa app the camera video came up each time . I didn’t have any issues with sound on the ipad and Alexa app.

Same issue, started after returning from vacation this week. Use as a baby monitor so this kid woke up screaming which was fun. I’m hoping to see an answer here at some point.

The following video shows the issue:

Wait a minute or so for the sound.

The Alexa routine is very simple:

Damn I was hoping step 3 was it actually telling the person to go home

There are some salespeople that that would be appropriate for. I could get more colorful😋.

I am currently having the same issue on 2 cams

I was raised to be relatively polite, and for years I would at least listen to their name and what they were selling, tell them “no thanks”, and they’d thank you and leave. But then it got to the point, especially with solar, where they will not stop talking, will not give up. I work from home, I can’t sit there at 1PM and listen to you spew BS. So it got to the point where as soon as I opened the door I could see they were selling something and just say no thanks and shut the door. Now with the cams I can just totally ignore them.

Actually the best is since I’m in a multi family house if they ask if I’m the owner I just say “no he lives a couple towns over”. That way they don’t bother the tenants either.

I was out doing yard work a couple weeks ago and a Verizon FIOS rep walked by and asked what internet I had. I said, yours, for about 10 years now (I resisted the urge to tell her to look at her tablet since it would have told her every unit in my house has it). But that was a mistake as then she started trying to convince me that I needed gig speed.

Cam V3 on FW 4.36.14.3497

  • Echo Show 5 (1st gen) will always cause the camera to buzz. It will stop when you stop viewing the camera.
  • Echo Show 8 (1st gen) will always cause the camera to buzz. It will stop when you stop viewing the camera.
  • Echo Show 8 (2nd gen) will buzz once. Afterwards, if you view the camera with Echo Show 5 (1st gen) or Echo Show 8 (1st gen), it will not buzz. However, if you ask Echo Show 8 (2nd gen) to show the camera again, then it will not stop buzzing until you restart the camera.

The commands were all tested with Alexa routines. I have also flashed previous FW 4.36.14.2953, 4.36.13.0416, and 4.36.11.8391, but I experienced the same issue as above.

Log id # - 1907040 Unfortunately, I am not going to create a log for every cam, it would be extremely repetitive, but for me it is v3, v3 w/spt lt, v3 Pro, v4, pan v3, vdb duo, fld lt v2.

When viewing thru Echo Show 5 or 8.

Viewing via the Alexa app on an iPhone is fine. The issue only seems to happen when viewing thru the Echo.

Here’s a fix to help while we wait on Wyze.

Obviously not everyone is capable of doing that, and may not want to void their warranty, but it is the sort of thing I’d do if I was having the problem

Though now that Wyze has acknowledged it and is working on it, I’d probably give it a week or two and just live without the Echo Show, just to see if I can save the effort and risk…

In your case it sounds like you never want the speaker to do anything for any reason, so I’m guessing you’re going to leave it that way permanently. In that case it makes more sense to open it up and do that.

Or connect it until it starts again. If it happened once - and for as long as it has just so far, then it could happen again.

No, it does not affect the app, It only happens when I used my Echo show V5 to monitor the camera at my desk.

One more thing in regards to Echo Show 8 (2nd gen) especially on the bolded part above.

If it doesn’t stop buzzing even if you stop viewing the camera with it, you can restart the camera or view it with Echo Show 5 (1st gen) or Echo Show 8 (1st gen) and it should stop buzzing. It is very weird.

This seems to only happen to me when both an echo show 5 and an echo show 8 both watch a camera feed. In the morning the kids ask for the driveway can a speak fairly loudly so that both the kitchen and living room even up showing the feed. I’m not sure if this is the cause but it could be possible.

Has there been any updates from Wyze? I’ve had to turn off two of my V3 cameras as they’re basically useless until this is resolved,
